False Allegations Against A Reputable Company!

AUTHOR: Myrna Taylor - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, April 05, 2003

I am the Webmaster and part owner of FloridaGunWorks.com. I would like to take a moment to make some comments regarding the Rip Off Report I just read about my company...

Firstly, if you read what 'W. from Scottsdale, AZ' said carefully and compare it to the facts that I am about to disclose, you will realize that not only is he committing a crime by stating false accusations against my company, but he is also 'fishing with no rod'.

Not only will he not give his name, so as to conceal his identity, but gives no specifics as to what he ordered and gives conflicting information about what he says was charged on his credit card.

Secondly, having a P.O. box as a mailing address is not only legal but advised when you own a business.

As federally licensed firearms dealers, even our federal license shows this address (Which is not a closed P.O. box, I was just there to pick up mail yesterday!) as a mailing address.

We only receive merchandise shipments at our actual premise address, not correspondence. This is a general business practice and is nothing to be so surprised about.

We have been in business for years and have worked very hard to keep a good image and maintain high customer service standards. As expected, you cannot make everyone happy all the time. But we are known for quick e-mail responses and superior customer service. Our terms and conditions state, clearly expressed on our website, shipping may take up to 6 weeks on some special order items.

Now, due to the vagueness of Mr. W's claim, I cannot even venture to say that this was his case. If it was, he was advised before his order was processed that his item was special order. Only upon his approval, would we orderthe item and process the credit card. We keep shipping records of all transactions and would gladly look into his so-called claim.

As to his claim of no other way to reach us, I say this: Both the e-mail addresses to 3 departments and a fax number is provided on each page within our website. We are not required by anyone to place our phone number on our page. When requested, as happens hundreds of time a week via e-mail, our phone number is given to serious customers.

Now, another thing, I cannot and will not believe that Mr. W. has no idea what a chargeback is... He was smart enough to know how to file a complaint on ripoffreport.com! If this is in fact the case, all he had to do was call his credit card company and file a claim, especially if it was for 'thousands of dollars'.

Besides, if he really placed an order for thousands of dollars, I'd remember him, even without knowing his name, as this doesn't happen often. By looking at the type of merchandise on our website you see that an order this large would be noticed!

I am not sure who this message goes to, but, I would like to say this: I would respectfully request that you remove this particular rip off report (As it is the only one) from your website.

If further proof that this is a false claim is necessary, I would be glad to cooperate and provide any necessary documents, as should be required from consumers who place claims on your website. Otherwise, anyone, whether an actual dissatisfied customer or not can make false allegations against any company they choose. Not that I am concerned that this will hurt my business, but we strive hard to maintain good customer service and a blatant lie is just unacceptable, as I am sure you, the reader, would understand.

Thank you!
