I purchaced a 2004 Chysler 300 M in July of 08 and was told by the sales lady that it was a local trade and had passed a 100 + safety inspection and had a 90 day Warranty. I traded my 96' Mercury in and they gave me $2.800.00 and it was worth &4.000.00. They told me it wouldn't bring much because people weren't buying big cars. The Sales lady follewed me home and drove my Chysler and I drove my Mercury. She switched my Lic plate and left.

I ran a Carfax that cost me $29.00 and found out that the car came from Upstate New Youk and had had 4 previous owners in 3 states and that Foothill had bought it at an auction in Va. after it had been reposessed from the last owner.

I drive a truck and had to go out on the road and my wife took the car to work. She called me and told me the steering was making a funny noise and one of the employees where she worked said it had red fluid splashed all under the hood. I called Foothill and they went and picked it up and replaced the Belts and said the guy that traded it in had put grease on it to stop the squeaking. Lie.. They returned the car to her.

When my wife got home she called me and said the car was hard to steer and hard to stop. When I got home I looked at the front brakes and they were wore out. I replaced them at a cost of $100.00. I test drove it and heard a bad noise coming from the front and I took it to a local shop and was told the Tierods were wore out as well as the stablizer bars. I called Foothill Ford and they said they couldn't get to it till next week and I told them that I couldn't wait till next week as I wouldn't have my wife drive a car with bad Tierods. They said it was the best they could do. I had the local shop replace both items at a cost of $415.00.

I called Foothill and ask them to reinburse me because it had to be fixed and they said no, the Warranty was only good at the dealedship. I told him I understood that but it was a safety issue and the sales manager said sorry, we won't reinburse you. I told him I would never buy from him again and he said we don't care.

The only thing they did to this car was wash it, put a new inspection sticker on it and put it on the lot. They couldn't have inspected it or they would have found those things. I feel I was ripped off and lied to about it being a local trade. I wouldn't Recommend this dealer to my wort enemy.

Charging for diagnosis

AUTHOR: Mark Meadows - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, March 11, 2014

I took my f150 up to foothill ford for an inspection. I wanted them to see what it needed before anything was done so I could get a price quote. Well now they are charging me 65 dollars for absolutely nothing. They didn't do anywork to it, they hooked it to a machine. The machines that they offer at napa and autozone for free diognosis reports. I never consented to anything, no work, just a price quote. I wasn't aware it costs 65 dollars for a quote. I told Mark we had someone who would do a better job for cheaper. I personally know the guy and he does good work. Why would I let foothill ford do the job and charge me 2,500 bucks for a gass cap, tires, and a bad boot rod. The prices of the parts don't add up to that nor does their justification in the work itself. I never signed any paper to concent to being charged, therefore they can't technically charge me for anything. The guys who work up their said things like "oh you should be able to afford that you just got your tax money" Inconsiderate to not thing that one may have a family with children and every penny goes to basically surviving.

I called back today told them I wanted my keys, the service tech had the audacity to ask me if I was serious. Yes I am serious I never put my name on any paper and neither did my wife. They price gauge and take peoples money for nothing. They seem to have money, and plenty of it. Therefore, tons of people must be getting ripped off. If I must I will create a domain name to inform potential consumers about the fiasco that goes on up there. I will not stand by and let others be charged like this for anything. I will put up a site to inform people of the way this company goes about making their money.
