What she has not said is that (1) He was referred to me by another former client who was quite satisfied with my professional services, and (2) I represented him in more than one case, which indicates that he was satisfied with my services on at least one prior occaision, and (3) His first case- which despite my best efforts resulted in the Court sending him to jail for failure to provide proper financial support for his minor children- was not "paid-in-full" at the time we took it to trial, which indicates that money WAS NOT my main motivation, and (4) Although I practiced Family Law for many years,Timothy was the ONLY CLIENT that I represented to get jail time from this judge for failure to pay child support- an indication of the judge's perception of his his character and truthfulness.

In an effort to bring the light of truth to this matter, I have spoken with several of my former clients about the statements and accusations leveled in this completely erroneous "rip-off report," and many have indicated that their experience was so absolutely contrary to that described by Timothy that they are moved to supply their own rebuttal statements. We live in Louisiana and our legel problems are In Georgia with my husband's X-Wife. She loves to see him in jail.
Franklin Thomas, Jr. has an office we found out later with only a phone and answer machine. We should have known that him bringing us to his home to conduct business was not a good thing. We were trusting of him and thought like he said it would be more relaxed.

We have contacted C.A.P. and I hope they will get him to at least respond to us.

Although I always support filing a complaint with the State Bar as part of the process of a lawyer, it might also be months before they can get to your complaint. If the attorney won't respond. see if you can have a chat with his secreatary or his office manager. It's easy for a busy attorney get overwhelmed and become nonresponsive. Or you might consider just making a visit to his office to see if you can shake things up a bit.

I believe the limit for small claims court in Louisana is $3000. If the amount you paid is $3000 or less, you definitely should consider filing a lawsuit in small claims. It's probably much faster than the State Bar. You can find more information this link:

Many times, attorneys will return phone calls from other attorneys. So, you might consider hiring another attonrey even though you can't afford another retainer and maybe the new attorney can help you get the file and retainer back.

We have written letters and mailed them with return receipt and stated we were turning him into the State Bar Association. Nothing will make this man get off it until I am sure the State Bar comes into play.

We have tried everything we know.

Can you maybe tell him you are going to sue him for malpractice of handling your case??
