Franklin W. Thomas, Jr. ripoff - took a thousand sixty dollars and ran Marietta And Smyrna Georgia

Fortunately I do not know Timothy or his wife, but I do know Franklin Thomas. I have been his client since 2000 he did a great job on my first case so I returned for his services on 5 other occasions. Franklin has handle family law, criminal law and business law for me. I own a business here in Georgia and have gotten alot of good legal advise from Franklin. I met Franklin thru my aunt who also retained him in the past and was very pleased with the out come of her cases. Now with all of this being said you all should understand my fustration with the negitive comments that were posted here about this man. You certainly should not throw rocks when you live in a glass house. I think these people were pissed that things didn't go their way and are look for someone eles to blame. That person should not be Franklin Thomas.

Timothy has revealed only selective facts in concluding that he was "ripped off" by me in my former life as an attorney in Georgia, and therein he reveals his true agenda: anger at the legal sysytem itself. This is made even more evident by his reference to the "good name of Lawyers" that he purportedly seeks to "protect."

What he has not said is that (1) He was referred to me by another former client who was quite satisfied with my professional services, and (2) I represented him in more than one case, which indicates that he was satisfied with my services on at least one prior occaision, and (3) His first case- which despite my best efforts resulted in the Court sending him to jail for failure to provide proper financial support for his minor children- was not "paid-in-full" at the time we took it to trial, which indicates that money WAS NOT my main motivation, and (4) Although I practiced Family Law for many years,Timothy was the ONLY CLIENT that I represented to get jail time from this judge for failure to pay child support- an indication of the judge's perception of his his character and truthfulness.

In an effort to bring the light of truth to this matter, I have spoken with several of my former clients about the statements and accusations leveled in this completely erroneous "rip-off report," and many have indicated that their experience was so absolutely contrary to that described by Timothy that they are moved to supply their own rebuttal statements. I trust and hope that they will. Meanwhile, I am comfortable defending my own good name. I cared about my clients. I represented them well (until health challenges dictated that I leave the practice of law) and money was NEVER my prime motivation. No! I never "ripped off" Timothy.

Moreover, Timothy never fully paid for the next case and thus defaulted on our financial agreement. Thus, as per the agreement, I was released from representing him. I didnt "RUN." He NEVER filed any Bar Complaint or lawsuit against me. Why not? The facts were not on his side. So he chooses, instead, to hide behind a website. He along with his wife, threw a rock at my good name and then ducked out of sight rather than allow me to directly defend against these scurilous and mischaracterized accusations!

Anyone want to know what a REAL rip-off is? Its representing a cowardly "dead-beat" dad, getting paid only "AFTER" services are rendered, charging a reasonable fee for the next case which the client wants to use to give his children less financial support, THEN having the client default on the payment arrangements but blame the lawyer for the case not moving forward.

Didn't pay child support? "Not my fault!" Went to jail for it? "Not my fault!" Didn't pay for lawyer? "Not my fault!" Didn't get child support case to court for a reduction in payments? "Not my fault!" Anyone besides me see a pattern? Guess who the REAL rip-off artist is? Ask the Court. Ask his Ex-wife. Ask the children.

We are aware of what is written in the Bar association about Mr. Thomas. He may be in good standing on their records, but we have not filed our complaint on him either. We have had to hire another attorney to finish what he was paid to do. One thing at a time. After court we will file our complaint and see what happens from there.

I contacted the GA Bar Assn and the Consumer Assistance Program called me back today and is going to contact Franklin W. Thomas, Jr. The next step is to file a greivance if they are unable to contact him. They sent all the paperwork to me.

If what you say is true, that's way over the line.

The state bar association regulates lawyers. Search google until you find what you need.

A word of warning, though. Don't screw around here. If what you say is not 100% true, then you will be the one in trouble, not the attorney.
