My friend forwarded me an email from this company in July stating that there was a One Day only deal to get reservations in a Gatlingburg hotel with discount prices and we get 2 waterpark tickets. 2-3 weeks later, I saw the email and when I clicked on the link, it was still valid. I checked out the hotel and rooms and since we go to Gatlingburg each year for skiing, we decided to book it.

On Aug 5, 2013, I spoke to an agent he got all my details, send me an email confirmation stating that my card was charged for $218.70 and that I should get an email confirming my reservation with that hotel in 3-14 business days. On Aug 12th, they called (instead of emailing) to confirm my reservation. So all set, or so I thought. Today (10/22/2013), I got a voicemail asking me to call them to confirm my reservation for this trip. I was surprised but I still called them, after asking for my name, she tells me thanks for calling us back to confirm your reservation. She then puts me on hold stating that she was going to confirm it. It threw me off as she already confirmed the date and time and after 2-3minutes I was about to hang up when she came back and tells me that the hotel is booked so I do not have a reservation. I was furious, I asked her why they would charge my card on Aug 5th, and even call me back to confirm my reservation and now almost 3 months later they were telling me I do not have a reservation. She kept apologizing and I told her that they need to reimburse me not only for the money that was charged but interest as well. She refused and when I asked to speak to a supervisor, she said they were out at lunch. So when I insisted she got me another lady on the phone, who as the earlier one apologized for the inconvenience and could not explain why I would be charged 2 months ago and not have a reservation. She stated that the resort was not accepting any reservations from them as it was booked, but could not answer why they waited for 2 months to check on the reservation. She then told me she can get me another resort with discount. When I asked her the details of this resort and the discount she was offering me, she wanted me to confirm that I am willing to transfer my existing funds for the new resort. I told her No way, I have no clue about this place and this could be another scam you guys are running. She then agreed to return my funds in 8-14 days and when I told her No, I am not going to let you keep my money anymore. She said she will send it in the mail and I should receive it in 5-7days. When I told them that they were not running a legitimate business, she stated then why would we call you? So I had to tell her thanks for calling me to tell me I do not have a reservation after 2months of holding on to my money.

What worries me is that they held on to my money for more than 60 days, to be protected under the Fair Credit Billing Act you have to dispute the charge within 60 days after the bill with the disputed charge was sent to you. I hope I do get the funds returned to me asap. What were they doing with the funds they collected from me all this time? This is so shady....I will never ever again book through an email advertisement. Like I told her I should have known better, if its too good to be true, then its not true! Lesson learnt, I just hope someone gets them out of business soon before more people fall prey but in this technology era its not that hard to up and open another business. Once I receive my funds, I will register a complaint with the BBB too as I noticed that they have other complaints on this business as well.
