my wife sold the fundamentals preschool in december 2002 and we both were to be employed as this would help during the transition. we were assured that there would be no changes as the company had a perfect reputation for quality.

they have proved themselves to be very oppositional as they do not choose in our opinion to make the correct decisions in making sure that the children in preschool come first and then business. we have seen it go down from there in our opinion and other teachers.

there are now very high quality staff leaving and students as well are now attending other centers as a result of this. the most recent action was that all staff employed over a year was to still have 1 earned paid day off per month. i myself was paid 2 at a time from a holiday ect as was other teachers. my wife however chose to save hers for our vacation and 2 weeks ago filled out the paper to request it. it was approved and signed by the office manager and then 2 days later was told she would not get paid as she couldnt see how we earned paid days off and then stated that all staff who did get them, would have them removed on the next payroll to make it "even out".

we feel this is clear discrimination on their part. i contacted wage and hour board and the payroll companies attorney have been told that wages cannot be taken out now but we will have to take the matter to small claims court to solve this.

the owner has also chosen to eliminate my position as to make her profits larger. my wife has resigned as well and friday is her last day. she feels the clear dis-honesty and lack of care to run a center is call for leaving.

this is a very hard decision to see the center mis-managed and go down hill. she was clearly ripped off by the new owner of earned wages.

the only person that gets hurt in a low quality, non caring childcare center is the kids !!!!!

Kinder Care/Knowledge Learning Corporation is messed up from the top down. I have worked there for nearly 15 years--I know that profit is the name of the game. They pretend to "care" about children, but they really don't. The execs don't take complaints seriously, and they're too "snotty" to return calls. This is why some of you have had these problems. They've got the lock on the market so what do they need to be nice for?

Right now, in Oak Forest Illinois, there is a "director" who doesn't even have a 2-year college degree. I don't know how this got by DCFS, but I'm sure that her manager found a way to forge some documents. Please check. She has less than 30 college credit hours, and she's running a center.

In Frankfurt Illinois, a teacher was showing up drunk all the time because she worked at a bar at night. The director was told about it, even told the employee that she "reeked", but she didn't do anything about it. In fact, she was recently promoted to district manager. On her watch, several toddlers escaped from their classroom and were found by another teacher, trying to remove the fire extinquisher at the other end of the hall. Again the director did nothing but get promoted.

A male district manager has been having an affair with an employee for years. He's married, and after his wife showed up at the center (in Country club Hills, Il.) the director was transferred. He's still up to his old tricks, and rumor is that the director mentioned in the paragraph aobove is one of his "harem".

A manager was fired because she brought her baby to work with her. Her only other option would be to stay home, and she knew she was short staffed. She brought the baby with her for 1/2 day and she was fired within a week for "putting the center at risk". How much risk would they be at if she had stayed home and there was no manager on duty, no bus driver and a shortage of teachers? This happened in Orland Park, Il. just a few years ago. Oh yeah, a child got into a diaper bag shortly after that, and drank some cough syrup. Quite an improvement.

Several teachers were transferred with the promise of a better job at another center. When they accepted, they were given the same job at the new place, and refused their old jobs back at the center. These employees were all non-white. Once a few EEOC lawsuits rolled in, they quickly stopped this practice, so there are two left that they didn't get a chance get rid of. They had let 5 people go within 2 mos. before they were stopped. Three with the fake transfer, and 2 just fired. One of the ones fired was a manager and had been there for probably about 20 years. These employees were all replaced with white employees.

By the way, if your child attends a center in a "good" neighborhood, you might see more staff. If you're in the "hood" your childcare is really crappy. There is a center in Bolingbrook that is over enrolled by about 20 kids. They just cram them in there. The director and assistant also joke about the families, and discuss their personal information with anyone, other staff, friends, people in bars...doesn't matter. When DCFS comes, they "hide" the children by taking them outside, sometimes even putting them on the bus and driving away!

My manager told me that there was one director who is a male who closed himself up in his office every day for several hours. An employee accidentally wlaked in on him pleasureing himself in front of the computer. I think this was in Texas.

SCHOOL TRANSPORTS WITH KIDS NOT BUCKLED IN WHILE MOVING

I HAPPEN TO READ THESE REPORTS WEEKS AGO AND JUST TODAY SAW THE VERY SAME COMPANY RED FORD VAN WITH THE NAME FUNDAMENTALS PRESCHOOL ON THE BACK AND WHILE GETTING MY 3 CHILDREN NOTICED SOME KIDS GET ON THE VAN AND THERE WERE NOT THE REQUIRED 2 ADULTS UP FRONT. ONLY ONE HEAVY SET WOMEN DRIVER AND SHE LET A LITTLE GIRL GET UP FRONT AND A BOY WHO I NOTICED WHILE THEY WERE DRIVING AWAY MOVING ABOUT AND NOT BUCKLED IN. IN FLORIDA, THEY HAVE TO HAVE 2 PEOPLE IN THE VAN TO TRANSPORT KIDS ANYWHERE. ONE TO DRIVE AND A WITNESS TO THE TO/ FROM TRANSPORTATION LOGS AND SIGNED OUT.

THIS SCHOOL IS NOT DOING SO. ALSO SHE DIDNT MAKE SURE THEY BUCKLED UP OR THEY WOULDNT BE MOVING AROUND SEAT TO SEAT IN THE VAN. IF SHE HAD A CAR PULL OUT AND HAD TO LOCK UP THE BRAKES, THAT LOOSE KID WOULD BE THROWN THROUGH THE GLASS. CLEAR NEGLECT ON 2 ACCOUNTS. MAKES ME WONDER THE CARE THAT GOES ON "IN" THE SCHOOL !!! OR LACK OF IT.GOOD THING FLORIDA WANTS TO HAVE PUBLIC SCHOOL PRE-K, THIS MAY HELP CLOSE SOME POORLY RUN SCHOOLS.

HIRES PEOPLE WITH CRIMINAL BACKGROUNDS

THEY HAVE NOW LOST 5 STAFF AND WHEN THE LAST TEACHER OF OVER 4 YEARS WITH THE SCHOOL GAVE HER NOTICE TO LEAVE, SHE WAS QUICKLY "REPLACED WITH A PERSON, AND THEN WHEN THE OFFICE PERSON CHECKED HER REFRENCES, THEY WERE NOT SO GOOD AND SHE HAD A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND AND HAD TO THEN CALL AND DIS-MISS THIS PERSON SHE HIRED IN HASTE.

THEY DIDNT TRY TO KEEP THIS GREAT TEACHER, THEY CHOSE TO SPITE HER AS SHE CAN BE 'REPLACED IN A HURRY.' ( ALSO NOTE THE HIGHEST PAID) THE MASS UN-ORGANIZATION AND LACK OF CLEANING BEING DONE IS IN MY OPINION A NEGLECT IN NEW OWNERSHIP BUSINESS. THIS SCHOOL WILL BE LOWER THAN THE WORST DAYCARES WE HAVE SEEN IN THE PAST FEW YEARS IN MY OPINION.

HOWEVER, ITS ALSO THE PARENTS JOB TO FIND OUT WHY ALL THE TEACHERS ARE LEAVING ALL WITH-IN A MONTH. AND JUST LOOK AT THE BATHROOMS AND WALLS HARDLY EVER CLEANED. HEAD LICE IS NOW RAMPANT AND THE NEW OWNER HAD THE NERVE TO SUGGEST PUTTING SHOWER CAPS ON THE KIDS WITH HEAD LICE !! MORE KIDS HAVE BEEN TAKEN OUT OF THE SCHOOL SO ITS JUST A MATTER OF TIME THEY MAY NOT BE ABLE TO OPERATE A QUALITY CHILDCARE CENTER MUCH LONGER IN MY OPINION. ONE EX-PARENT HAS A NEW NAME FOR THE DAYCARE, "SUCKAMENTALS NO-CARE DAYCARE".
