I received a letter today, 6-30-2017, from Convergent. it says, This notice is being sent to you by a collection agency. The records of Galaxy International Purchasing LLC show that your account has a past due balance of $746.89. Our client has advised that they are willing to satisfy your account for 35% of your balance due in the amount of $261.41..
I do not owe anyone for anything nor have I ever heard of or bought anything or had services from Galaxy International Purchasing.. This letter looks like a scam!!!!

Galaxy is a real company. I do not, nor have I ever worked for them, but they are a debt buyer. Which means, no, you did not do buisness with them, but they took over a debt that you owed to someone else. Didnt the letter say who you originally owed the money to? If you calmly and maturely call them they will tell you who it was originally owed to.
Now if you look online you will not find good reviews for them, but remember NO ONE has anything nice to say about collection agencies, as legal and legitamate as some of them are.
They probably are offering you a real settlement just to get the debt done. Again I dont work for them, but ignoring it will not make it go away.
