I had credit with Wal mart/discover thru GE money Bank, my credit score is high 700's and always paid large amounts on my balances, this week I received a letter that my credit limit has been reduced to the balance amount left on my credit card, no available credit left, their version of the reason for the credit limit reduction is because of something on my credit report from 9 1/2 years ago.
When I applied and got instant 6500.00 balance the 9 1/2 years ago credit discreption was OK, then it was only 6 years old.
I will no longer be doing business with Wal mart, Target is across the street and cleaner and more organized.

It was a company decision that had nothing to do with you at all. It has to do with the current credit crisis. YES GEMB helped created the crisis - just like all the other banks and financial institutions that have completely trashed our economy.
But like all their other processes that are designed to rip off their customers - its nothing new for GEMB to do this to you and everyone else.
You can file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission if you like
