Eric Peterson ripped my wife and I off for $20,000 - taking a deposit for the design and consultation of a modular home while he was simultaneously filing for bankruptcy. He conned us into making the deposit and then played a game of cat and mouse to avoid performing. A complaint with the CSCLB was filed - but nothing could be done since he had filed for bankruptcy. He's slimey and a fraud - but wasn't work our pursuing him further.

Sorry to hear Mr. Peterson ripped off more people in the same way. I spent months trying to reach Mr. Peterson while we were supposedly in the middle of a project. Eventually I spent even more months attempting to get our $25k deposit back, or get Mr. Peterson on the phone. Only when I submitted a complaint to the BBB (which is a joke by the way), did he respond online to dispute the claim. He was filing for bankruptcy at the same time he was claiming to be performing and able to continue performing on his jobs.
I tried leaving a message for the local District Attorney for Martinez/Contra Costa County to report fraud, but I never heard back. I'd recommend the same, eventually enough calls on this guy may spark the DA's interest. I'm guessing by the amount of complaints on this site alone this guy and his partner(s) stole hundreds of thousands in a similar manner. Altamont homes cleaned me out of my entire savings with their little scam, I'd like to see these guys do some time.
