no need to close accounts

AUTHOR: Vicky - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, October 29, 2005

there is no need to close your account you can just put a stop payment on that company it only cost $15.00 to save a big headach and it will last for 6 months also if anybody charges your bank account for something you did not give permission for the if you get to the bank within 24 hours of the charge u can reverse it and did you know if somebody takes down your credit card number and types it in instead of swiping your card you can dispute that charge as well just thought you might like to know

GGW

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, October 23, 2005

Everyone by now knows what they try and do.

Its like cancer it spreads and then by the time its over they laugh but when the shoe goes on the other foot they won't be laughing. When they're all unemployed then they will be the ones laughed at.

The whole thing is a scam as well as playboy tapes and theres another one out there. They have connections. Just call them up and tell them you don't want to purchase anything, keep a record of whats been done and tell them don't call your residence. There are laws.

If enough people call the echannel and blast them not to show the commercials maybe they will understand also. Don't get me wrong. E channel has interesting things on there but please get rid of the jack a*s that thinks he on top of the world.

I had no problems

AUTHOR: Amber - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, July 01, 2005

My husband and I ordered the 2 for $9.99 deal that we saw on T.V.-They were nice on the phone, the videos arrived sooner than we expected, and had no problem getting them to cancel.I am lucky though because we were not aware that we had to cancel until a friend warned us about it.Be careful about this with "all" things you buy on T.V.,over the phone, and on the internet.Reason is,people are realizing more & more that consumers are not paying attention to the "fine print".We have to be more careful!! Also, why were GGW calling you?? Maybe they weren't really from that company,I have NEVER known this company to make a phone sales call. They use T.V. as their means of advertising(it's all about the visual)The videos I received from them were in perfect order, maybe you were scammed by another company, who knows.Hope this helpful in some way to anyone-Goodbye & Have A Wonderful Day!!

Hard to Cancel GGW The scam is in trying to cancel this 'subcription'

AUTHOR: Mike - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 10, 2005

I was enticed by one of the Girls Gone Wild video, 2 for $9.99. So I ordered them, and the videos were good.

However, when you order, you are actually subscribing to future videos as well, at the $19.99 price. The scam is in trying to cancel this 'subcription'. The phone number listed is only available from like 8 to 5, and it's busy the whole time (they must only have 1 line - jammed with others trying to cancel). It took me 3 weeks of calling almost everyday to get through. I made sure as soon as that 8am time came I was on the phone.

Finally I was off their list. It's too bad, I would like to order other videos I've seen advertised, but there is no way Im going thru the hassle of trying to cancel again.

Its simple. When they call you, tell them you don't want any and put you on the list.

Second of all everyone and I mean do mean everyone was fooled even I was about their commercial. Your the consumer and if they mess with the public they will be out of jobs.

I think that most of the videos are boring.

Don't let them get you.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

It's the fake billing con.

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, February 13, 2005

Each month, they take more money out of your account. That's the whole idea. That's how these companies make their money.

You get people to call up and give out their name and address, along with their account numbers. That way, you can start billing them. They start billing you right away, as soon as you get off the phone.

Each month, more new charges. You don't have to agree to anything. You don't have to order anything. They simply take the money, just like clockwork. That's how the scam works.

Naturally, they make it impossible for you to put a stop to it. Nobody answers the phone at customer service. Or else, they will transfer you from one department to another. There are tons of excuses you can use to prevent the customer from putting a stop to the fake bills.

I can't find your account number in the computer.
I'm not authorized to discontinue your services.
You agreed to purchase a minimum number of items when you opened your account.

This nonsense can go on for several months. Meanwhile money is being deducted from your account over and over.

Finally, when you've had enough, you call with threats. So, they agree to stop your service.

I've ended your account, and credited you for last month's charges.

Meanwhile, they are laughing at you. Nothing's been stopped. They're frauds. They'll keep stealing as long as you let them. They lied to you about closing your account. Check you statement next month. You'll see.

In order to put a stop to this, you need to close the account. Perhaps, when you do that, your bank can help you reverse some of the charges. It depends on the person you are speaking with, and how long you let this go on.

How do you prevent this kind of thing? Easy! Don't give out your account numbers to anyone. Do what I do. I tell them I don't have a bank account or credit card. Send me the item, along with a bill.

No fraud will do that. Problem solved!
