Well, after reading some of the other reports regarding Global Casting Network, I feel like a real dope for letting them pull the scam on me..

Basically, I signed up for this stupid thing to become an extra in a movie for $139.00 which they said could be refunded in a month..After two weeks I figured this was a waste of time and money so i tried to call them and cancel the report...Just like everyone else has said on this site regarding this company, the man was nasty, he called me names and got quite touchy when i said he was pulling a scam on me...He refused to give me my money back...He claimed that i was pulling a scam on them because i didnt try to put up my pictures and that was part of the agreement...I responded that this was never stated in our contract to which he said "we dont have to tell you, thats what a trial run is"...At this point I knew i was being scammed for sure...I said i would not give them a cent, and he said " well i already have your 139 dollars"...I asked him again whether he would refund my money, and then i told him if he did not i would call up my credit card company and reverse the charge...He said that he "had all my information and would simply charge me again" and this happens to him "all the time"...In words i cannot write in public i told him what would happen if he charged me again, and then i hung up the phone and called my credit card company....They claimed that they had the charge dropped and i would not have to worry, but just in case i got a new credit card....

Somebody HELP! Is this it? What should I do if they try to charge me again??

There were 2 different companies using the name Star Search Casting

AUTHOR: Julie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, June 03, 2007

The company this person is talking about started doing business in 2003 and was only in business for about 3 years. They kept changing their name and website so people would not catch on to their scam. They were located near San Diego California in Oceanside and also used an address in Carlsbad. This is their Better Business Bureau report: http://www.sandiego.bbb.org/commonreport.html?compid=20005827

Many scammers, like this company, confuse people by using names very similar to real reputable companies.

These are the names they used until they went out of business in late 2005:
Hospitality Trainers
Exposed Casting
Star Search Casting
Prime Time Casting
Show Time Casting
Global Casting Network
Global Entertainment Network
Get Casted Now
Search Light Talent
Look At Me Inc.

There is a real company named Star Search Casting, Inc. (http://www.StarSearchCasting.com) that has been in business since 1998 and is a member of the Better Business Bureau. You can see their BBB report here: http://www.bbbonline.org/cks.asp?id=1050419191358

Many people still confuse the scam which operated out of Oceanside California with the real Star Search Casting located in Ventura California because they used the same name.

Fortunately the scam company is no longer around but their bad reputation continues to hurt a legitimate company.

TEMRE POTTER, NEIL PALLANTE, AND WIN ANDERSON IM CALLING THE THREE OF YOU OUT RIGHT NOW

AUTHOR: Joseph - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, June 16, 2005

These three names are supposedly head honchos with this scam industry...As a matter of fact, Temre Potter has responded to some of the complaints about her scam, sorry "company", on this here site...Temre, why would you be REGULARLY checking ripoffreport.com in the first place?? Paranoid anyone? Or perhaps you have a lot you would like to cover up...Well, Ive dedicated the next few days of my life to informing as many people as I can about this SCAM you are pulling, and I would just loooove to get a response from you or one of your fine employees (namely Jason Miller, a reallllll tough guy over the phone...i doubt thats even his real name)

By the way the real address I have found for your SCAM is 215 1/2 N Coast Hwy, Oceanside CA 92054..

I looked up this global casting network on the better business bureau (of course, after filing a formal complaint) and found that they have had nearly 400 complaints regarding refunding money alone in the past yr, 194 of which they simply did not respond to...Why is that Temre, Neil, and Win? Too many complaints to respond to?? Clearly with this amount of complaints SOMETHING must be wrong....Perhaps if you ran whatever you were running like honest human beings you wouldnt have this problem...And hey can u guys tell me about this Prime Time Entertainment and Star Search Casting? Looks like it is the same scam under a different name

And lastly Temre, why do all of your employees refuse to give people their 139 dollars back and always offer the same excuses? This is clearly not one isolated incident as i have read numerous accounts of how your scam artists treat customers...Therefore one would be left to believe that it is company policy to belittle people over the phone and offer fake excuses as to why they cannot be refunded their money...

Come on Neil, Temre, or Win....Step up to the plate....Lets hear a response from one of you fine, hard working people*

NOTE *by fine i mean lowsy and by hard-working i mean dishonest
