A firend got to know a guy named Kevin Brown through the Internet. This guy seems quite a nice guy. After two days of knowing him, Kevin Brown informed my friend that his company is tendering for a mega project in Manchester and if his company gets the tender, he will give my friend a laptop as a gift.

After a day, Kevin informed my friend that his company got the tender worth millions of pounds. So he informed my friend that he will send her a new hp laptop, two watches for her and her husband, a gold necklace and 3500 pounds as a gift for her by courier. After a week, the courier company Global Express Services Ltd email my friend and informed her that the parcel was being detained by Malaysian Customs because it contained currency.

She telephoned the local representative by the name of James Ruben and James Ruben informed her that she has to pay a commission of 3460.00 Malaysian Ringgit in order for the parcel to be released by the Malaysian Customs. The commission has to be paid through them. I phoned James Ruben and in the course of conversation he got agitated and angry when I told him my friend will pay directly to the Malaysian Customs.

As far as I know, the Malaysian Customs is not that corrupt. If foreign currency is detected in any in-coming parcel, the Malaysian Customs will contact the recipient for an explanation as bring in foreign currency into the country without declaring it is an of fence.
