GLOWORKS IMPORTS INC. is a company who values are done in excessively poor taste and without any ethical morals.

GLOWORKS is a company that will sell you a bunch of lies and fake smiles in order to get your business once they have your business they will monitor you to see if your buying from any of it's competitors. Once they see you with a product thats not from GLOWORKS or hear your buying from another company some how the prices GLOWORKS first was charging you gets higher. I see this as their normal good bye tactic they use. Get what they can while they can.

This is a company who has made a career making millions off the hard work or business mainly from the little guy at the end of the day is treated less then a second class citizen or totally ostracized.  It's company rotates employees like a non stop revolving door and pays a measly 20% of earnings from events. Smaller businesses working from their homes are paying it's employees 30% from earnings at events.

GLOWORKS is a very mean company you will find this out when their done using you then they toss you aside like your the number one enemy instantly placed on their bucker block axe list.

As old employees, custormer of GLOWORKS are battling for EXCLUSIVE it's sad but true GLOWORKS current employees have had knock out fist flying fights at numerous events IN FRONT OF CHILDREN. I have witnessed GLOWORKS employees picking a fight on a DISABLED MAN IN A WHEEL CHAIR when he tried to sell glow necklaces where they felt they had the EXCLUSIVE.

A LOT OF THE BLAME IS BECAUSE EVENT PLANNERS ARE TAKING EVERY ONE MONEY AND "CONTRACTS" WITH THE RIGHT TO SELL GLOW/LIGHT-UPS AND ARE NOT INFORMING OTHER VENDORS  THEY HAVE CONTRACTS WITH that they can not sell GLOW/LIGHT-UPS until the vendor arrives sets up and begins to sell GLOW/LIGHT-UPS, then GLOWORKS starts calling the police to throw out or shut down any vendor regardless of status. CHURCH, VETERANS, DISABLED, MOM & POP.

Because of poor business practices many local custormer choose to pay shipping and handling WITH OTHER out of state business or drive the distance in order to NOT SUPPORT GLOWORKS. No one wants to support a company that doesn't support them.

GLOWORKS can care less about people or children their only being friendly at the MOMENT because they want your MONEY you get treated according to how much MONEY you can generate GLOWORKS. Once your business with making GLOWORKS RICHER "stops" so does the fake smiles, and hellos.

GLOWORKS is also known for mistreating children, using profanity and total rudeness like monster demons. They will try to sell you horror stories about it's competitors having you think your getting a better deal with them but from what I have witnessed GLOWORKS is far beneath it's competitors and heres why.

GLOWORKS sells products to any one who has the money to buy then they take the little guys money to BUY OUT get EXCLUSIVE to PREVENT "YOU" the little guy or it's compeptitors from making a  honest living. And in most cases these EXCLUSIVE are for PREVENTING it's LOCAL CUSTORMER from getting the cash.  They are well known for bullying bossing treating every one from EVENT PLANNERS, to Mom and Pop's if they don't get there way they don't care who they run over. GLOWORKS also claims to have EXCLUSIVE for events they actually don't have EXCLUSIVE for.

GLOWORKS threatens its custormer by telling them if they catch them selling GLOW/LIGHT-UPS at or near a event their at THEY WILL REFUSE TO SELL TO YOU and not to return to their ware house.

Many of GLOWORKS local custormer are not happy with their service, GLOWORKS wants every one to take a back seat or remain invisible approach be quite stay out of GLOWORKS way which is what prompt me to write a complaint. If GLOWORKS doesn't want any one else to sale GLOW/LIGHT-UPS around them when their selling, then why sell the product to the "public" get hostile if GLOWORKS don't want any one but GLOWORKS selling during event times? This is a double blade sword.

GLOWORKS also knowingly sells SAFETY RECALLED items to the public, and knock off licensed products. They also don't require a state sales tax I.D. number nor do they charge to most locals the Michigan sales tax. They also claim to have a hand full of employees but at their events I've seen over 100 of it's workers at a given event. Are you being truthful on your tax returns GLOWORKS?

#2 UPDATE EX-employee responds

They are out of business anyway

I was curious what happened to this place.  They were horrid to work for.  I was going to work there as a shipper in the warehouse as a second job just for extra cash...and because i lived down the street.   My other job is a career and is my livelihood its midnights and 12 hours.  I just came off 3 days straight back to back 12's and one 16 hour OT shift.  I started at Gloworks monday morning fresh off a rare 16 hour shift and was tired.  But I figured this was just a 2nd job it was just brainless warehouse work.  They place was a revolving door of temps apparently.  All they had me do is sweep the warehouse and pick up trash.  While the owner nervously ran around barking orders, being a d***** and acting like a guy on the edge of losing his business.  He had assessors come out and tell him how much the warehouse is worth.   The way the owner acted like an impatient, clueless jerk it was obvious this company was in a tail spin.

The warehouse was completely disorganized, boxes ripped apart. Nothing made sense, Just a cluttered mess of cheap chinese novelty crap sprawled all over the place.  The office was in complete disarray.  Clearly this place was totally inefficient and the revolving door of temps working there, the property assessors, and the owners fear worn clearly on his sleeve.  Clearly showed this place was ran into the ground and on fire.

I had worked 16 hours at a REAL career, and this JOB had me sweeping for 8 long boring hours.  I asked if i could do more, they said no.  I was exhausted, and if they were not going to need me to do what I was hired to do I just as well go home and get some sleep before i go in again to my real job.  I figured the obviousness of this place looking like a sinking ship...they'd jump at the chance to save money and send me home since they had no work for me anyway.

Nope.  They got s***** with me.

Like I was being lazy and didn't already work a full work week in 3 days.  Like me going home and not being there to sweep and pick up trash would ruin the company and everything would grind to a halt.  so I pushed on for another 2 hours and did more b******* work to make them happy.

The whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth and I felt like it was a monumental waste of my time.  Treating me like sweeping was the only thing holding the business together was ridiculous.  I quit the next day...and big surprize…..They NEVER paid me for my day of work.  Not a dime, not ever.  So i was not surprised to drive by the location I worked at, at 126 N. Groesbeck in Mount Clemens Michigan a few months later in october to see the sign for the business gone and all the signage and garbage they had hanging off the roof all gone.  3 weeks later the former site of Gloworks main warehouse and retail store was now a home remodeling business.

I’d say that’s karma served for what sounds like from my experience and the original posters rip off report to Gloworks for being a scumbag business.  I’d be mad at them for not paying me to do do 8 hours of bullshit work at $10 an hour.  But I have a job and CLEARLY they needed the money more than me.  Haha.  They don’t really have a snappy reply for my posting because I can go take a picture of the new business at their address.  and if I was wrong and they are still in business and just moved????  they have not updated the address of their new business on their website.  Because they didn’t move, they are out of business.  maybe selling their cheap crap from the Owner Joes garage again like when he started the company. Glad to see his broke a*s crash and burn.  Hope ripping me off out of a paycheck put some gas in his Escalade.  haha

And by he way, if Gloworks is not out of business and you come back running your festering gobs calling ME a liar too….if you are still running a business you have money and income coming in and you owe me a paycheck for 8 hours at $10 an hour.  So don’t pop on here bragging you’re still open or you might hear from a lawyer in your next reply back from me.  And maybe you’d like a tax audit to see who else you’ve been ripping off over the years.

#1 UPDATE Employee

You're "report" is just a bunch of ridiculous barely coherent rambling...

You sound like a disgruntleformer employee who is just slamming the company/current workers because you're upset about being let go. Some if you're complaints, while the text is true, are invalid because they are taken out of context and spun to be a horrible thing. When in fact, that's just life/business. "Gloworks doesn't care about the little guy and it's customers". It's a sales/festival vending company. It's not a charity. What exactly would you like for them to do to support "the little guy"? You want a light up? Cool! That will be (insert price). - End of transaction!

Yes, Gloworks and any of it's employees may notify the police or "bully" (lol) ANYONE who comes to an event selling OUR product or any like products on the premises. They don't care who you are (vet mom and pop whatever) just as you stated. Gloworks PAYS to work events. They auction off the rights to sellat events. And sometimes the bids get driven up pretty high to certain festivals. So, no, they do not sit idly byand watch while people who have no legal right to be there collect money that should go to the company that DOES, in fact, have "EXCLUSIVE" rights to be there. But tell me, my good man, would the police that were called do anything about it when they arrived on scene if Gloworks were just being petty about basically a small issue?

No. They would tell the company that it was a non-issue and not to call them about such things in the future. We all know how the police function in Michigan. They do not have the man power to deal with trivial matters, and are EXTREMELY quick to notify callers of this. People who do not have permits to work events that Gloworks does, in fact, have exclusive (paid for) rights to be at are taking money away from the only company that's legal allowed to be there. And because of those people (scabs is what they're referred to as) sometimes Gloworks ends up LOSING money on events. Not only do they pull in ZERO profit. No.

The owner basically came out to lose money. Because people want make a "quick buck" ILLEGALLY at the expense of legitimatecompanies who do go through all the proper channels. As for the employees behavior, management cannot begheld completely responsible for the actions of individuals. These people are not under constant supervision like in other retail settings and, yes, sometimes there are undesirable results because of that. But I can assure you that anyone reported to be using foul language in front of any customer (child or adult, it does not matter) is immediately reprimanded, up to termination. About the sales tax? They work strictly with CASH outside all day. They do not carry coins. And why would they? The food venders don't even charge sales tax. So why would the souvenir venders? Would you, as a customer, like to sit there while there's a line and wait while the vender calculates then counts out change (F***ING COINS!!!!!) to account for sales tax?

I, personally, would walk away. Not that thus even matters that much, it just caught my attention personally (and made me honestly laugh out loud) you stated that you've personally seen over 100 Gloworks employees at a single event? I know for a fact that is a complete LIE. There has never been any festival, concert, event, show, or gathering that would make sense to bring 100 employees to sell LIGHTS! And (if this part "violates the terms and conditions" I'll remove it) but you are in serious need of a grammar lesson. It was honestly hard to read your mindless, ill written report because if all the errors. If you want people to take you seriously, you must take your delivery seriously. I'm just being honest. Call it constructive criticism ;)
