MY loan has matured and I have paid 72 months on my vehicle. needless to say i got laid off a couple times and needed deferment payments however i was never told these would mature with my loan and have to be paid in lumpsome when my loan was completed. needless to say i have a 8k balance and was told my vehicle is subject to reposession because of it. How heartless is that!!! ive given these people over 46k in 7 years and they want to repossess my vehicle for a prinipal balance!!! Never told me about the maturing of the deferement payments once!

Rip off!

AUTHOR: BRANDY - ()

POSTED: Saturday, June 21, 2014

Whomever you are seems you work for this rip off company! Have you checked their history? Pretty weird that they are willing to settle for waaayyyyyy less than the balance supposedly owed! Ring a bell???  A deferment is in any financed vehicle but regardless I paid my 72 payments and I was told the deferments were part of these 72 payments. I've read horror stories about this company! No matter what yiur rebuttal may be they are still a rip off corporation! If I owed 9k why are they willing to settle for 2500??? A bit weird huh??? Before responding check the history or this company before blabbering off at the mouth!!! They are a rip off! People barely ever get a 0 balance with these people! Again check the history!

You seem to have a misunderstanding

Funny how you didn't think they were "heartless" when they allowed you to defer your payments when you couldn't make the payments as you had made a legal agreement to do.  They could have just reposessed your vehicle at that time, sold it at auction and come after you for the balance of the loan.

You have "given" these people over 46K in 7 years because that is what YOU agreed to in exchange for them giving you the money to purchase a car.  The reason you have paid for this car "twice" is because they are a Sub-Prime lender meaning you had credit issues going into this loan and were given a very high interest rate and because you needed to get to monthly payments you could afford a very long loan term.

Never told me about the maturing of the deferement payments once!

- Actually I would bet that they did, and probably did it every time you requested a deferment.  However, like most people in your situation you had "selective" hearing.  Where you were so glad that you could defer your payment and keep your car.  They could have told you that you would owe them $50,000 at the end of the loan and you would have said...no problem.

They like ANY finance company will move any "defered" payment to the end of the loan, it NEVER extends out the maturity date of the original loan.  So yes, if you had 2 or 3 months of deferments, those 2 or 3 months become payable at the end of the loan.  If you fail to make the payment then they have the legal right to reposess your truck.  Because until you make every payment it is NOT your car.

As for being in your position or not, it doesn't matter.  You can read every single line in your loan agreement and you will not find one single line about them being a "charity".   But again, remember if they were really "heartless" they didn't have to give you the deferment at all..now did they?

As for you not paying another penny on your loan..yea let us know how that works out after you get it reposessed.

Oh and no I do not work for this or any other finance company.

Heartless?

YOU signed a contract to make each and every payment on time, every time.  Your contract doesn't say you get a pass because you allegedly don't have the money.  When you are late, you generate extra interest for the lender.  Read your contract.  If you want charity or compassion, there are churches and agencies for that.  No, I don't work for them!
