frequently use service for a 1 mile destination on thursdays. Have seen discepancies in price but nothing too extreme. Today's same trip was over $5.00 higher than any other time used. feel GoGo Grandparent is taking advantage of senior citizens by adding false or increasing fees. total charge is not known until after trip completed  ( email confirmation receipt is received) please investigate if possible.  There is no trip # only client name "Pacita Schweer"

Hello!

Thank you for your interest in GoGoGrandparent, I'm happy to shed some light here.

GoGoGrandparent charges $0.19/minute for the time that you're in the car. Any other variance in price is charged by the vendor and viewable in the receipt. We do not charge for time that you're on the phone, or time that you're waiting for your ride.

We do our best to warn you when our underlying vendors (Lyft & Uber) are charging a higher than usual rate. When you call in during a time that a vendor is charging a higher than usual rate you will hear

"Warning, please listen carefully. Warning, please listen carefully. Due to higher than usual demand, the current price for this ride is 2x higher than usual. Therefore the current price is..." and then we read the current price. 

We also do our best to monitor drivers that are taking poor routes and dispute trips with the underlying vendor automatically. Our monitoring and dispute reporting activites are included in our $0.19/minute fee. 

When you call in with an operator and provide them with your destination address, all our operators will give you a 'fare estimate' for your trip. We do not control these fare estimates and are generating them in real time from the underlying vendor. The vendor generates them also in real time based on existing traffic conditions at the moment you are requesting the trip. Our underlying vendors' fares are a combination of distrance traveled and minutes in the car, which means that they change based on route and traffic conditions, but usually not by very much.

In very rare occassions (like a road closure or holiday) traffic conditions will be altered enough as to create a $2 - $5 difference in price. What this means is that if you call for a fare estimate a week in advance for a trip that is set to occur on a day where traffic conditions may be significantly better or worse than the day that you called, a material difference in price may occur. This is very rare and usually only happens for obvious reasons (a road cloasure or holiday). However, if you request an estimate and order a ride over the phone with an operator at the same time, the estimate and what you are charged should match.
