Ouo years ago we purchased a timeshare in Virginia Beach from Gold Key Resort. We were told at the time we could easily exchange our week for any other week and would always be able to get an ocean view or an oceanfront room. I am severely claustrophobic and would not have purchased had I realised every year when we exchange we are placed in a room with no opening window, no balcony, overlooking the garbage or the street or a parking lot or the Motel next door.Every year we have to fight to be moved to a better room and this year were flat out told this is what we get for buying in the offseason. The list of things wrong with this room is a mile long. I just tried picking up the coffee pot and the handle came off in my hand. It's a miracle I did not get burned. Cheap, damaged and inferior rooms. Unbelievable. We paid cash. And every year our maintenance fees go up. Over $100 more than when we started and climbing. For what? I don't know. We are so discouraged. I'm wondering if they would just like to take this piece of crap back. They certainly got their money's worth out of us. The microwave doesn't work. Burners on the stove don't work. It's over $200 to switch weeks to be put in a junk room. What next? We have perfect credit and were it not for ruining that credit rating we would simply refuse to pay. Does anyone know, do we have any recourse whatsoever. The company simply told us several times now when I have complained the salesman who sold us this no longer works for them. They refused to stand behind her promises. We are sick about this. Gold Key apparently has no scruples.
