Golden Eagle Coins cashed my Check in December for close to $2000 for 100 silver coins, it's February and I haven't received my coins yet. They claimed they shipped the coins on Jan 8, but they didn't arrive. Their follow up is weak, and after multiple emails and calls, they usually come up with excuses such as their insurance company needs 3 weeks after mailing before they can file a claim (Umm, why is that my problem?). those 3 weeks came and went but no coins and no communications.

DO NOT give your money to these scamsters!

Sorry to Hear About Your Big Loss

AUTHOR: Kelly Clover - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, January 07, 2017

I am sorry to hear about your great loss but here are some things I know can happen: I know for a fact that postal service employees sometimes deliver items to the wrong address. I have received mail that was addressed to someone eles's address quite a few times. When possible I will usually take it to the rightful owner of the mail. Unfortunately most people who receive mail that was deposited in the wrong mail box don't do this.

Your complaint is the only one I see on Ripoff Report for that company. If Golden Eagle Coins did not ask for a signature at the receiving end they were highly negligent. For something worth nearly $2000 it makes no sense to not ask for a signature even if the shipper has to pay a premium.

With most companies of that type you have to pay a premium to use a credit card (Often 4%). There is however 1 important advantage to using a credit card. You can call the issuing bank and ask them to withhold the payment when this type of problem occurs.

One possibility that cannot be dismissed is theft. The name of the company gives away the possibility that something of substantial monetary value might be in the parcel.

I once had it happen that the mailman failed to put a notice in my mailbox informing me that a parcel had been left at the post office. I received a notice 1 week later informing me that I was getting a second notice of attempted delivery.
