I signed up for dating services, deposited 200.00 down & was billed 88.88 a month. 4 times company cancelled photo shoot...continues to debit out of my account. Director & admin person: Sunny & Ahsa say they will fix problem, but they never call back when they say they will. They do nothing to refund money back nor will they give me phone numbers to their corp office.

I have a hard time believing that you represent Great Expectatins (GE) in Portland, yet never met "Sunny" who is now "fired."  Your company, or whoever company it is, was featured on ABC news today, as I am sure you are aware. Several customers expressed their concerns with GE, and even a fomer employee was had informed ABC of the fraud at Great Expectations. It sickens me that such a company can be ran sop poorly and takes advantage of people in such a way.  Potential customers, please don't fall for all of their tactics, and sales scams and as I can rightfully assume are continued lies.

I am so sorry to anyone who has been a victim of the scam, Great Expectations! I saw them on the news tonight on ABC.  Several people were making complaints about the  company.  A former employee even expressed her concerns with the company, stating that they tell their customers that the people are professionals, however this employee had reported that some were even unemployed.  She also expressed to ABC that some of the pictures they use in the profile, are not real members of Great Expectations. Please don't fall for any unprofessional rebuttals they write, and put your money elsewhere.

So Brianna Sunny is the liar....she was fired?  I appreciate your coments, but I require a gesture of good faith and that would be either bring suit against me so I can couter sue or drop the collection efforts and kill the bill that I was never provided a service for.  This needs to be cleared up with my credit as your company has damaged my credit and caused me great grief that can not just be forgotten...Maybe forgiven but I am not so stupid as to put my foot back in the fire.....Your company has violated my trust.......

I just reread through this. I wanted to clear the record....I have never met Sunny. Nor has she ever talked to me via email or phone. The comments she made are slanderous and will be followed up with our Attorney. They were both let go as they were not helping clients. As a matter of fact her name is not Sunny. It is Peggy Sue Cornwell. I am so sorry to be apart of this string of messages. I just wanted to reach out to you Deb. Good luck with your goals. You had every right to post on here. I would have too.

Deb, I am sorry to hear that you did not get the respect and service you desearve! My name is Brianna. I am the current Director of GE. I have been with the company almost 8 years and started when I was a photographer for MT. Hood Meadows Ski Resort. I worked for GE Portland for about 7 years and then was laid off this Summer. Since then we have had many complaints about the management and decided it was time for a change. We brought in new staff and management after only 6 months and have been signing up a ton of great people since November 1st, 2009.

I am sorry to hear that you did not receive a photoshoot in a timely manner. This is only a glimpse into a person, not a company. As a mother, I never appreciated making plans and having them cancelled. I know this can be quite frustrating. I have loved my job for years and we both know a company is only as good as its employees preformance. I wanted to stop by and introduce myself and let you know I am here for you if you would like someone to listen to you and your experience. The girls and I work very hard for all of our clients and are saddened by the news of upset clients(even if we havent met them yet). Our phone number is 503 274 4244. Sunny,

You have shown who is more mature in reading your e-mails.  I didn't join the service because I had trouble finding men.  I actually get hit on all the time.  If you read my e-mail you will see where I said you called me once when American Express was doing their investigation.  My story has never changed and I have been extremely professional with my statements. I have not lowered myself to your standards.  I agree that Asha was the main person at fault since she scheduled and cancelled the photo shoots.  Hard to believe I still remember this, but you yourself Sandy told me Asha was your assistant not a manager. You were her superior, she answered to you....hello you did not follow up on her & apparently gave her more authority than she could handle.  I don't really care anymore....I am not crying actually I'm laughing and warning everyone who reads this about Great Expectations.  I don't need to warn them about you anyone can see how unprofessional you are in your e-mails.  Also you better hope the person who replaced you never reads what you wrote about her which is a thief, because you could be facing a couple liable suits.  I'm really relieved this happened so I didn't have to deal with you anymore.  Good luck with your business.

why do you need a four letter expletive to express yourself?  Only idiots do that.

I NEVER received emails from you whether you have copies or NOT...Asha was the only one with access to the emails, I never had access to those, as she was the customer care manager, not I.  And you saying that I called you up and yelled at you is still a lie....its interesting that at first you say I never returned your calls, THEN you state that I called you and yelled at you, so which one IS it?  Make up your story and stick to it,LOL!

Call your lawyer and good luck with that.  And for your information, I QUIT the company, I was not fired for lack of follow up like you printed in your rebuttal.

As of today, I am done dignifying your rebuttals with an answer.  You just keep on living in your delusional world my girl...(and I am older than you are even though you did look older than me, so to me you are behaving like a girl, not a woman).  If you got your money back as you keep saying, what are you crying about?  Take your money and spend it on a facelift, you could use it...or better yet, a good psycho-analyst.

1st & foremost Sunny...I have copies of the e-mails....can't save voice messages, but even your girl Asha admitted she got some of them.  By the way I am not your girl I am a 55 year old women who was treated like s**t by your company.


2nd. I paid $200.00 of which American Express has returned to me after your nasty phone call to me.


3rd - You are the one defaming me stating I tried to rip you off from the beginning so you had better watch what you say.  Actually I will call my lawyer tomorrow. Defamation is based on truth, which I have stated all along.


4th I stopped the auto withdrawal 5 weeks and 4 days after I repeadedly tried to get a response from your company & after you never called back when Asha said to me you would.

Deb, short and sweet everything you typed here was an untruth.  Never once did I receive either a voicemail, message, or emai from you.  I think you were embaressed that you could not afford the service and you didnt make any payments so I do not know how you can sit there and type this drival.  Blame yourself, you are the one who signed into membership and did not hold up your end of the bargain.  How is it that everyone else got pictures and video done but you??  Give me a break girl.

And HARDSELL???  Just exactly what IS a hardsell?  If you did not want the service, all you had to tell me was no thanks and as I recall, that was not in your vocabulary.  Again there was no gun to your head, and I did not block your way out of my office and you could have stood up at anytime and walked right out that door.  So don't blame us because we tryed to help you.  You are a very ungratefull and mixed up young lady.

So what transpires between you and GE I could care less, as I said, I don't work for them any longer, I have my own business and if you keep going online and saying lies like this about ME in particular and calling me names we will see whose lawyer is ready to sue whom.  Be caustious little girl, defamation of character to me is a serious thing.  And you had no money to be given back as you never made your payments and you and I both know that.  I told you when you signed as you were expressing you were afraid you could not make the payments that if you cancelled GE would not chase you down for a measly 88.88 a month.  Grow up and tell the truth.

In reading Sunny's rebuttal her focuss is on the upfront signing up process.  I did not have a problem with the setup other than the fact that I was a hard sell & did not want to pay upfront until I experienced the services(my first time on line dating).  The problem occurred when Asha & the photograher cancelled more than 3 sessions with me.  There was no follow through by either Asha or Sunny.  I called so many times my job was in jeopardy.  I also e-mailed them. Never a response until it was time to take more money from my account.  I wanted an apology from Sunny & a discussion regarding trust which I had lost since I paid $200.00 already & had no pictures taken & was never given a sign on to get online & no contact from them.  If it looks like a scam, & walks like a scam, watch out it probably is a scam.  Neither person even checked that the photographer was doing his job.  Asha said Sunny would call me the next day & that never happened. I called and was put on hold & then hung up on repeatedly.  My credit card company & Bank have refunded all my money after a lengthy investigation with Asha & Sunny & the facts I reported to them.  Now a collection company is tacking on late fees to try & collect for services I have never rec'd.  Anyone in Business knows you have to communicate with your customer & follow through is so essential or you have no business, maybe that's why Sunny is no longer employed by them.  During the investigation Sunny called me at work & yelled at me & hung up AGAIN...she only cared about herself & did not care about the pain I had gone through for months trying to contact her & Asha in addition to the investigation process. She called me a liar & said I never called. She is the liar or she believes Asha who is lieing.  The collection agency said they would sue me in court & now refuses because they say it is not worth it to them.  This could all end if they sue me...I have a lawyer ready & waiting & he feels I have a great case since the credit card investigation showed in my favor.  I am not a dishonest person & only want to pay for products or services rendered. They had control of the photo shoots not me & they failed to provide those services after I trusted them with a $200.00 down payment.  Both Sunny & Asha are responsible. Asha works for Sunny & Sunny was in charge of the office.  It's not like I changed my phone number or e-mail or anything...where is there professional accountability...no where......

This is in response to Deb in Portland who filled out a rip-off report and specifically mentioned myself and my customer care manager. I have worked for Great Expectations since 2001 and have never had an incident where someone attempted to convince people that they were lied to by me. I care alot about each individual who sits in front of me at those interviews, and with Deb, I gave her a very good program for as little money as I could due to her financial condition. Most people are required to pay in full when they come into the center, with Deb, I charged her about one half of our regular pricing, and allowed her to make payments that fit her pocket-book. I did NOT charge her for online services which are normally 29.95 a month to access our website, but I gave it to Deb because she could not have afforded any more than her contract payment. That said, I very carefully screen each applicant in person, it's almost like a job interview. I am a professional interviewer and know what questions to ask people and how to descern their answers...are they being honest? Are they fudging a little? Are they really ready for this? I don't just sign you into the membership because you can pay for it, it takes a lot more than your money to make you a client. You must show me integrity, honesty, you must LOVE yourself and have great self-esteem and have realistic expectations for your romantic future. It is called Great Expectations...NOT Ridiculous Expectations. Now just in case you think I am defending the company, I am not. I do not even work for them any longer, and I will admit that there are sales people out there who will say whatever you need to hear to get your money, in fact Portland's current director Brianna, will do just that and I would not recommend that anyone sign into that membership in the Pearl district because of her. She has been known to inflate the amount of members in that center by keeping expired members photos and profiles active instead of deleting them, and to lie to you regarding the types of people they have in their database, cause if you have fifty bucks, they will sign you up and it doesnt matter if you are a truck driver or the president of a corporation. I personally would never lie, cheat or steal to make a living so I am only responding to this because Deb has made unfair and completely untrue statements against myself and Asha. We did all we could to help her, and she as I recall, did not make her payments as she agreed. The person sigining the contract needs to take inventory of their OWN integrity for once and stop constantly blaming the person who signed them up. They are not children and NO ONE held a gun to their heads and forced them to become members. People simply at last come face to face with who they really are, what they really look like, etc. and sometimes they don't like what they see in that mirror. And if they do not want to sign into the membership, one little resounding word can take care of it....NO!! And FYI DEB: I never had the power to return money, but certainly would have given and have given out our corporate phone number and the owners name and address so that was another untruth on your part.
