Please beware! Green Moving Inc & First Call Movers are fraudulent scam artists.

Green Moving has posted on their company website "We have an outstanding reputation across the industry including the Better Business Bureau, Department of Transportation, and the American Moving and Storage Association. We receive terrific feedback from customers and suppliers and have accumulated minimal complaints over the years." The Better Business Bureau has posted "This Business is not BBB Accredited".

Both companies have LOST their accreditation with the BBB.At least when I began this process back in June, First Call had a BBB rating, they've lost their accreditation since June. WOW!!  A company would have to be HORRIBLE to lose its accreditation with the BBB!!! Unfortunately, I am living proof of it.

Although I have contacted the National Dept of Transportation, the BBB, and sought legal assistance from a transportation law firm, I'm posting this fraud report to alert all potential movers and current fraudulent moving & shipping companies.

Green Moving & First Call has repeatedly misrepresented the terms of their contract and failed to deliver within the contracted time frame.

My daughter and I have been so distressed throughout this process that I am seeking compensation for overcharges, breaking my furniture, and missing the delivery date.

Job #: B5557290  -- Move from Fairfield, CA to Carrollton, TX

Pick up date: 6/27/13
First Expected delivery date: 7/3/13

5/24/13 - I booked moving services with First Call Movers. At the time of booking, I was told that the local moving company that will be contracted for my move would be Liberty Movers, Inc.

6/25/13 (2 days before the pick up date) I received a call from a First Call rep to confirm my move and tell me that the company that will be Green Moving Inc. With 2 days before my scheduled pick up date, there was no time for me to cancel the services because I would have broken the contract and lost my deposit.

6/27/13 - Green Moving movers showed up 2 hours late. The movers did not have original moving estimate from First Call Movers but stated that upon initial visual inspection I had well over what was on the original estimate due to the # of boxes that were in the garage. When in fact, I had removed 15 sizable items from the original inventory. Based on the original inventory, there were 50 boxes listed, whereas I had 108 boxes counted the day of pickup. As per the driver, the difference of 58 boxes (despite the 15 furniture items removed from the original inventory log), constituted an additional $2436.
The mover ensured that my move would take between 7-8 business days and recommended the delivery date of 7/3/13. Although we went through the contract, he said that the 2-21 business day time frame on deliveries is a clause that allows the company that time when/if the delivery truck is caught in bad weather, accident, or unforseen situations arise. During the pick up, the movers broke the glass table top of my coffee table and left a book shelf in the garage that was tagged and on the inventory log.

7/2/13 - Contacted Green Moving to get an ETA on the delivery and was told that my delivery would not be made on 7/3. That date was only the first available delivery date that I suggested, but the company had 21 business days from that first delivery date to deliver my shipment.

From this date through the 21st business day (8/1/13) the same cat & mouse game between First Call Movers & Green Moving continued for the remaining 21 business days (more than 1 month past my pick up date).
During my on-going conversations with the Acct Rep at First Call Movers, we discussed the discrepanices between the original inventory and the one that Green Movers logged and found several items that logged incorrectly (multiple # of items or items listed that I do not own).

7/25/13 - Called Green Moving to inquire about the status of my delivery and was told that the truck has left California and will be delivered by Aug. 2nd (the 21st business day). And that I would be receiving a call from the truck driver within 12 to 24 hours of the delivery date. Again, the delivery never happened.

8/6/13 - I contacted the National Dept of Transportation (DOT) to find out how consumers in my situation can be assisted with problems with shipping companies. I spoke to a rep in the complaint dept that informed me that her dept is very well aware of Green Moving and First Call Movers' poor business practices. I was told that they receive multiple complaints per day on these companies and ensured me that I would receive my delivery because they have never received a complaint of a customer never receiving their delivery. They deliver....but usually very late - within 30-40 days past the 1st expected delivery date. The rep also said to call back after I receive my delivery so she can walk me through the process of filing claims on both companies.

As of today, 8/22/13, the 36th business day, I have yet to receive my household goods. After speaking to Green Moving today, I'm being told that my delivery will be made this Sunday or Monday (8/24 or 8/26). I am passed disgusted with this process!

To date, the $4186 is comprised of the inaccurate visual quote of $2,436, the broken item $250, approximately $1000 for the additional items purchased while waiting on my delivery, along with the $30 per day sanction for each day the delivery is delayed past the 21st business day (currently $500).

I am seeking compensation for the total cost of the move $5436.00. On this date (8/22) I have incurred costs of $4186 for this move and expect to incur more if the delivery isn't made by Monday 8/26/13 - the 38th business day of this move.
