Local and National Investors in Guardian Investment Group (GIG), operating out of Cumming, Georgia, are alleging foul play and fraud. The investment company has been operated by, managing partner Michael Guard, also of Cumming, Georgia, since it's inception in 1998. Investors cry foul play as the multi-million dollar fund suddenly lost 80% of its value in the month of February 2009.

At the same time the alleged losses in February were to have occurred, Mr. Guard and his family had already fled the country. He listed his house in October 2008, sold most of the belongings and one of his former neighbors was quoted as saying, Mr. Guard's family pulled all of their money out a few months before he left. This would indicate they were well aware of what was to come. Mr. Guard has repeatedly lied, claiming in February, my house is now on the brink of foreclosure, I have lost everything I have, my house, my cars, my job, even the inheritance from my mother but as of March 2009 his 400K+ house was not in foreclosure, his family recently vacationed in Disney, and it is thought his family has his vehicles.

Despite repeated requests by multiple investors, Mr. Guard has refused to provide documentation regarding exactly how the money was invested, how many investors were in the fund and when he would be returning to the country to further clarify his management of this investment group.

It is unclear how many investors were with the fund, but several investors have lost their entire life savings. The investment group operated out of Georgia, but the effects were felt nationally with investors as far as Washington State. Guardian Investment Group (GIG) was previously described by this website: http://gigpartners.com, which has recently been shutdown.
