Hanfield Financial Group Lottery Check Sent a fake check Stop Messing with people during these tough times It isnt funny or Right Niagra Falls Ontario Canada

Got a letter in the the mail today stating I won the lottery with a bunch of other people and was entitled to 39k. There is a check enclosed for 3900.00 with instructions to call Barbara Smith or Michael Edward and that I had to claim my prize by Feb 25th. I called and called the number and didn't get an answer. I figured something was up with it anyway. Im glad I was smart enough to come here first and check it out rather then try and deposit the check knowing the in the back of my mind it wasnt good.

What makes me angry is the face that millions of Americans are hurting financially right now tonight and they could use that 39k or even 3900. But some scammer got the idea to be cute and steal from people who already dont have it. I hope they are found and I hope anyone that gets this letter is smart enough to know its a bad check.

The bright side, the bank would hold the check anyway until it cleared only releasing 100 since its considered a non-local check.The check im sure would come back and the bank would call you and it would be no harm no foul. My other concern was that the account number on this check was someones who fell victim to a scam and they would have 3900.00 checks bouncing off their account.

I worked in the banking industry for a while and im glad I did..
