Hans Nemec of Nemec Properties is a crook! We found a house he was renting on Craigslist. From Oklahoma we sent him the deposit for the house in Indiana where we were going to move in two weeks. The house was promised to be ready by then. When we arrived the house was a construction zone. There was no kitchen sink, one room had no carpet, upstairs bathroom was unusable and had a huge broken down wardrobe in front of it. There was a giant ladder in the upstairs hall along with paint cans, paint brushes, 5 gallon buckets of paint, tools, plastic for covering your carpet when you paint and many other things I don't have the patience to list. So when we arrived, the house looked like this so we were forced to stay in a hotel when it was promised to be ready several days before. He said it would be done the next day and it still wasn't, so running low on funds we had to go ahead and move in. We had already paid the rent and deposit or we would have found another place to live. He never fixed anything with the exception of putting a sink in after we had been there for 5 or 6 days. We couldn't ever use the upstairs bathroom and had no access to the basement. After two weeks he transfered or lease to another house. When we moved in three different neighbors came and told us to be careful and told us problems previous tenants had with him.

After we were here for about a week we started having a lot of problems with him. He tried charging us for damages to the other house that we didn't cause with the exception of one. We told him to take it out of our deposit and he said no the deposit doesn't cover it and word for word yelled "pack you s**t and get the f**k out of my house". We had only been in the new house for 5 days at this point. A little while after this I am sitting in my living room and hear running water. I go into my daughters bedroom downstairs and water is flowing from their ceiling like a waterfall. I could have showered under it. So we let them know what had happened and they sent someone over to look at it. He didn't get it fixed for over 2 weeks. So we were unable to shower this entire time and were washing ourselves in the kitchen sink. Us and our daughters were getting migraines and nosebleeds and flu like symptoms so we began to be concerned about mold. They told us there was no mold so we bought four tests and all came back positive. We called city code and the health department and neither can help. The ceiling in my daughters room is still open and leaking and no one has been here in over two weeks. He being a " licensed plumber " for 25 years you think would be able to handle this with no problem.

We have been in this house for less than 2 months at this point. He continues to try to extort money from us, harass us via email and text and has even driven by my house and taken pictures of my minor children playing in their room. Our car alarm has been triggered twice, someone has tried to break in, we've gone out and our gas cap has been off and our lawnmower was just stolen from our back yard. We had just bought the lawnmower a week earlier. We never received our mail from the other address, and now our mail is being sent to an address we have no affiliation with.

He isn't making his house payments, he is behind on his property taxes and water bills for at least these two houses. He demanded payment for the water bills, so we went up to pay them and the lady at the water company said we shouldn't even have a bill yet. He was trying to charge us for dates we weren't even at the houses and also overcharged us for the first house. We are unable to get the bill in our name because of a technicality. When we have paid them for rent they never seem to have a receipt book and "will get it to us later" most of the time it takes a week or two and twice hasn't even been for the correct amount. I have seen his "manager" take mail from our mailbox for a previous tenant, which I thought was a felony. My neighbors said that the previous tenants had a lot of the same complaints. We just don't know what to do anymore.
