Harbor Resorts will contact you through a second party saying you entered a contest on the Internet.(which is something I do from time to time)..You will be contacted that you have won a prize: a Cadillac Escalade, $2500 cash, a vacation to choose from such places as Orlando, Vegas, etc, or a 32 inch HD Toshiba TV. The only requirement was a commitment to listen to a 90 min. presentation, with the idea that this was a travel agency and you would consider using their services in the future to book travel arrangements.

When you get there you have to fill out a questionnaire. What a crock.. On my first visit they tried to sell a timeshare in Switzerland. When you say you're not interested, they get the "manager" who's going to make this affordable. The price $16,000 but you're lucky because you can buy a foreclosed one that same day for only $8800, but you have to commit at that time. Whenever someone "purchased" their vacation plan, they would break a balloon and have everyone clap. (I'm sure they also clapped for the poor individual who purchased the vacation plan and had it forclosed because they couldn't afford the payments).

When you stick to your guns and say "No", they give you some coupon to redeem your prize for a vacation and of course you have to pay a processing fee for the prize. I had a friend who received one of these "vacations" and it was a total rip-off.

A couple of months later I get another phone call telling me that I won a prize (same prizes) but that I was invited to an Open House because Harbor Resorts had just moved into their new offices and that this was sponsored by Harbor Resorts, Cadillac and Toshiba and that refreshments would be served. I was very curious so I went and again filled out another questionnaire. This time you watched a 15 minute movie on Interval International.. And of course you're
matched up with a sales person.

I mentioned to the salesman that I was told that the event was being sponsored by Harbor Resorts, Cadillac and Toshiba. He said "no" this was for Interval International. As for refreshments, before the movie began he offered me some water. After the movie, I was approached by one of the managers who asked me if I had attended one of their presentations recently. I told him I didn't remember, so he pulled my name off the computer and it confirmed I was there a couple of months prior.

So to get rid of me he gives me a $1,000 internet shopping spree, which I see in comments on the internet that people have to pay additional money for processing and shipping off their credit card.
