Downloaded Net Detective 31JAN01.Could not install due to "file corrupted and unuseable"message.Called customer service 2FEB01 and requested the CD."Stacey" said we'll mail it Monday,5FEB.

21FEb called customer service again;no response.Called again 22FEB "Stacey" apologized for the inconvenience and said"it's on it's way".8MAR sent them an e-mail,their response"a representative will contact you".Still don't have Net Detective.
Based on "Stacey's" apology I stupidly paid the $25 credit card bill.

NET DETECTIVE IS A RIP OFF.SHOULD BE CALLED NET DEFECTIVE.

Their relationship to the company: Consumer Suggestion

Rebuttal:

I ordered Net Detective on 1-14-02 over the computer. It took 30 minutes to download and within an hour after that I became quite aware that anything other than telephone company information, I was going to have to pay for. I was led to believe that I was going to be able to get unlisted

phone numbers and reverse unlisted phone numbers. No way. I immediately deleted this program from my computer and sent Jean Harris Digital Publishing a letter that it had been deleted and that I would be challenging the credit card bill when I got it. I never could get through to them on line and didn't get a phone number to make contact. Everytime I tried to get through to them on the computer, I was told that my server couldn't be identified (MSN??). Talk about an overrated oversell!!!!

I purchased this software some months ago and downloaded it from the net. I immediately realized the information contained therein was mostly things I had located myself and so I immediately knew I wanted my $25 back.

I sent an email requesting a timely refund and I did receive it, no questions asked. While the software wasn't acceptable for me, the company did a good job of handling my refund request, and if you haven't already done so (I couldn't tell from your complaint whether you had), you might email and ask for your money back. Good luck.
