Haus Juris German Shepherds -- Megan Judge Go elsewhere if you want customer service because Megan Judge doesn't stand by her dogs Nokesville Virginia

 I got my first female from Megan all the way back in 2003. She was definitely a dominant puppy. She wasn't "dog-aggressive". But if you know anything about the breed, you know- especially females-- that they are not generally dogs who make indiscriminate doggie buddies. That's first. Second, my girl had a rock solid temperament around people. I mean rock. solid. She was an amazing dog. Third, my male (and again if you know anything about the breed this is also typical)- is the complete opposite- he's a happy go lucky lunkhead who never met a canine stranger. Both dogs were from Megan and both have been fan-tas-tic. I have a hard time taking anyone seriously who is this histrionic in his or her review. To me, it smacks of a rival breeder trying to discredit a great breeder who has great dogs. And btw- every HJ dog I've met around NOVA has been exemplary. Stable, confident, beautiful and balanced.

I have 2 Haus Juris GSD's and Megan Judge is a great breeder. All of her dogs are titled, breed surveyed and gorgeous. If you knew me you'd know I don't give good comments unless they are deserved and Haus Juris deserves only good comments. Megan doesn't always answer the phone when I call but I understand that she's a busy woman but she ALWAYS returns my calls. She is attentive and helpful and best of all she has become a true friend. She and her kennel manager Olivia live German Shepherds. Don't believe me? Go to Facebook and type in Haus Juris. My wife and I own Axel vom Haus Juris and Ivy Haus Juris. We are friends with close to 50 people that own HJ dogs and we're friends with another breeder in NJ that uses HJ males for stud. I found out about HJ from a breeder in MD that uses her stud dogs. All of HJ's dogs come from West German show lines and are gorgeous, well mannered and easily trained as service dogs, trackers and in our case family members. Our dogs are so gorgeous that people are always commenting on how fantastic they are and are amazed at how sweet as well.

I doubt that you even know Megan, Haus Juris or even have a GSD.

Megan Judge's attempts to repair her image by having friends write in supportive declarations are transparent, to say the least.  I stand by my former review and anyone who knows my dog would agree as well.   While not people-aggressive, she cannot be in proximity to any kind of animal.  I cannot walk my Haus Juris dog with any friends if they have a dog as well.  She has set upon other dogs.  She attacks the TV when any animals appear -- or any animation, for that matter.  She is a shadow-chaser.  She has been kicked out of doggie day care.  In advanced obedience classes, she was always the one off to the side, on the leash, while others were practicing off-leash techniques.  The list goes on.. 

I too have owned dogs my entire life and she is the first aggressive dog I ever owned.   Ms. Judge's extensive temperament training -- which she said she used to select dogs for owners -- should have picked this up as it was readily apparent the first time I got her together with other puppies.  It is not so much that she is so aggressive -- such things happen and dog-breeding is not an exact science.  It is the fact that Megan Judge could not have cared less when it was called to her attention.  She was totally unresponsive to my plight despite my many attempts to get her to address the dilemma.  I am glad for those customers who were fortunate enought to get a stable dog from her but mark my words:  you will pay big bucks for one of her West German products but she will be nowhere to be found if a problem develops.  Buyer beware...

 I have owned GSD's since I was a child.  When I moved to Virginia in 1983, I had brought with me two GSD's from Nether Lair Kennels in Massachusetts.  These dogs were amazing and over the years, my husband and I tried to find a kennel that was as professional, knowledgeable and supportive.  We had eight GSD's and they came from four different kennels in the area.  We were always disappointed that we could not find a kennel like Nether Lair-until we found Haus Juris.  Megan was as knowledgable about the breed as Hans-our Danish trainer.  She was supportive and would call us back if we had questions.  We loved our first GSD from her so much- we got a second dog from her.  These dogs are smarter, sweeter and overall more like the "golden middle" that all our other dogs combined.  (We loved them all- but our two HJ dogs seems to be able to communicate with us).  I also like how Megan supports animal rescues.  I volunteered for the Humane Society of Fairfax County and Megan was quick to answer my plea in helping assess and place a GSD with French ring training.  She spent hours evaluating him and helping us find him a home.  She donated food for many GSDs that find their way to HSFC-none of these are her dogs- just to be clear.  The French Ring Dog came from Belgium.  At Christmas time, Megan did "Pictures with Santa" with all proceeds going to HSFC.  I know because she gave me the generous check to deliver to them.  Both of my HJ dogs are CGC dogs and one is a certified therapy dog.  Many of her dogs are CGC and many do SAR and therapy work making real contributions to society.   I have met many HJ dogs- they are all sweet and happy.  When a dog gets returned to Megan because the family can't keep them, she agonizes over finding a good home.   These dogs truly are angels on earth.  I am sorry if you did not have a positive experience- but I can only say I have been a customer for many years and my life is better for it.  

 I was shocked to read this report and somewhat surprised. My wife and I have two Haus Juris dogs, a male and a female, and they are perfect. We drove from Florida to get them becasue of Megan' reputation for breeding temperament first in her beautiful GSD's. Our male is 2 years and is one of the best dogs we have ever had. He's big, handsome, very sweet with everyone and was one of the easiest dogs to train. We also have a 15 month old female that is also perfect. Our dogs are always friendly when we have anyone over. Do they bark at them when they ring the doorbell? Yes they do but with a simple command they stop immediately.

We are friends on Facebook and real life with over 50 others that also own Haus Juris German Shepherds and they all feel like we do. Megan Judge has her dogs working as therapy and tracking dogs but many are family pets. A day doesn't go by that someone doesn't stop to tell us what beautiful well behaved dogs we have. Are Megan and I friends? Yes but because she has provided me with two of the best dogs we have ever had and most important she is an honest reputable breeder.

Megan breeds from only the best West German show dog lines and if you were to meet her males and females you would see how gorgeous and sweet they all are.

If you are considering a Haus Juris GSD please don't rely on this persons complaint but instead go to Megan's wbsite or better yet visit her facility or got to Facebook or contact me and find all of the people like me and my wife that have her dogs and couldn't be happier.
