This company requires pre-payment of services by credit card. Each month the premium is collected in this manner for the coming month... 10 to 15 days prior to benefit month.

On cancellation 1/28/08 pre-paid premium had already been withdrawn for February 08, on the 18th of January. Policy seems to be that a cancellation effective prior to the benefit period is ignored. Decline of coverage for the prepaid period is ignored. They think I'm not going to serve notice to Georgia State authories over their refusal to refund pre-paid premiums.

Have they messed with the wrong guy!!!!!

Response to Thomas - refund policy

AUTHOR: Jacquie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, August 18, 2008

The cancellation policy for a Member's plan is clearly stated in the Member's Handbook, which every Member receives. The plan calls for payment for any given month to be on the 18th of the preceeding month. This fee is forwarded on to the insurance carrier each month. If a Member calls after the 18th of the month (this individual says that he called on 1/28), they have already paid for the upcoming month. HCCUA no longer has those funds. This former Member wanted to change the rules after he had agreed to them when he became a Member!

He also failed to post another report clarifying his error when he found out that we had done nothing either unehtical or illegal whatsoever. It would have been responsible of him to do so rather than to just leave the false impression he had given in his original report.

Sincerely,
Dr. Jacquie Damgaard
Executive Director, HCCUA

#1 Consumer Suggestion

report these people and get your money back

AUTHOR: Reneeg - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 20, 2008

I worked paying insurance claims for many years and now work on the other side as a biller.
I was shocked to read about HCCUA and how it conducts business.
While it is great that each of you has reported on this web site, I do not think it is enough.
I suggest that each person who has a problem with them contact their State Insurance Commisioner and the State Attorney General.
You have to fight back and report this fraud to recover your money.
Your states Attorney General may also issue a cease and disist order to the company preventing them from doing business in your state.
The owners of this company could face severe fines and jail time if they are found to be guilty of fraud.
God Bless each of you, good luck.
