they charge me $29.95 for a program called pc rescue. the program never worked. i wrote many e-mails (around 8) to solve the problem, at the end to get my money back. eventhough a card was used, the transaction was done thru pay-pal

Sadly there are a ton of products out there that promise to do all these wonderful things for your PC. There are some that do quite a good job at a reasonable price.

I would recommend Norton System Works, and yes it will cost you more than $30.00 but it is well worth the cost.

The suite includes a number of applications for maintaining your system. Best of all they are a well established reputable company.
