We purchased a Hewlett Packard HPzd7180us S/N: CNF4160ZL6 P/N: DS489U#ABA. This is a laptop HP Pavilion. This has broken down from the month that my son bought it it has seen the shop more times than has been here. We purchased the two year warranty from HP and the two year from circuit city. We called up they said no problem they had a few of the cases from us on file that it has been in the shop than it was suppose to be handled by the first HP case manager than they never called. So we called back last Tuesday which they didn't bother it had broken down two Thursdays ago yet again. After we called them last Tuesday since they didn't call us. They said I would get a new case manager the case manager called us back on last Wednesday we contacted him on Thursday but he was not there. Then we tried calling three different times on Friday. I finally got him and he said he had absolutely no record of my son having it in the shop. Which it astounds me how it is possible that originally they had a record of it being picked up and we have a cord they had replaced from this same company which says that it is a replacement plug right on it. We tried calling him again today March 14, 2006 which we got him and he said now he has no record of the computer ever being called in. Which is an out and out lie. Jim laughed in my face when I tried to get this problem corrected. This family is handicapped and I would appreciate any legal advice so that we can deal with these people.

I am so sorry to hear you are experiencing problems with your HP Pavilion Notebook. I have a post with a long running thread just below your post. I too have an HP Pavilion Notebook and my son has one as well. Both of us have experienced hardware failure with our computers and EXTREMELY poor service from Hewlett Packard.

After the third breakdown of my son's computer, Hewlett Packard replaced it with a 'refurbished' computer. I have a huge lack of faith in what the outcome will be with this situation. Time will tell, he's had it nearly a month now.

I have my computer back from repairs now for less than a week and I feel like I am walking on eggs. I expect it to be breaking down again at anytime. I have NO CONFIDENCE in Hewlett Packard's products or customer service.

I can't offer you any legal advice, I am not an attorney. But, if I had purchased my computer through a third party, like Circut City, I would look to them for recourse.

Hewlett Packard's customer service is poor at best. My son and I had the same experience you describe with Hewlett Packard's customer service. They are unresponsive and inept.
