Higgins Body & Paint, Inc Refused to honor my confirmed appointment time at shop opening because of a staff meeting West Valley City UT

I had an 8 AM appointment to get an estimate, set early so that I could make it to work on time. I arrived at 8:02 and pulled right into the estimate lane inside the building. The woman at the desk told me that everyone was in a meeting, so I should have a seat in the waiting room and they'd be right out to get me.

At 8:15 AM having seen no one, I went back to the desk to remind them that I was there, and was told that they were still in a meeting, and it would be another 5 minutes. I informed them that I had made an appointment for 8 AM, which was important in that it would allow me to be at work on time. I also reminded them that they had sent me text the previous night reminding me of that appointment time, and asking me to do them the courtesy of contacting them if I couldn't make my appointment time.

Her response was to offer that I could reschedule if I wanted.

Yes, that's right. Despite having a confirmed appointment time, they kept me waiting for 20 minutes (and wanted me to continue to wait) because they were having an internal staff meeting, and the response was that I should schedule a new appointment time, write this morning off, and do it all over again including the 20 minute drive. Keep in mind that the shop opens at 8 AM, so there wasn't some backlog of other customers in front of me. I was the very first vehicle that had arrived this morning.

I asked to speak to the owner or manager to make sure there wasn't some confusion at the front desk. The receptionist went back to a room I could see where several people were sitting around, and came back and said that he would be out in several minutes. I asked who it was that day, and low and behold it was Jake Higgins (I assume either the owner or his son). At that point I gave up and left.

If you, like me, want to take your business to a place that respects your time and appreciates your business, Higgins Body & Paint is not that place.
