I called Hire a Helper for loading of a POD the next day. #1 I could not hear the individual during the call. His voice kept going in and out. Except when it came time to get credit card #. It sounded like he was on his cell phone. I have no knowledge of company.
PODS has them on their loading site. Order cancelled within 7 hours. Customer must return acceptance email. I did not. Still charged $244.00. They refuse to credit me. I cancelled during business hours. I did not cancel next day. The service is a phone bank.
Anyone off the street could be your loaders. I suspected a scam. I should be entitled to my full credit. They have ignored my emails and in fact hung up on me during a call to them. PODS should be ashamed for having their name on PODS site. Innocent people like myself just need the help they are asking for. For the sake of business and respect of others if a credit is requested provide it Shame on them!!!

PODS and ABM You-Pack

These both are very good DIY companies - PODS a bit tougher if you happen to be outside a service area. But they're both designed for the do-it-yourself mover. Why? Because of the exact reason you stated: Anyone off the street could be your loaders. Why? Because most individual movers work for a moving company, or one of their subcontractors. If you elected to use one of these companies they recommended, then yeah, your chances of finding a mover off the street are going to be high.
PODS, ABM, and others that offer you a metal cabinet, really work well for the DIY provided you actually do the work. If you are by yourself and have no one else, then I would recommend a mover local to you.
Best of luck....
