Hisham’s Towing There has to be a law! My car was towed off of a private lot granted it wasn't registered because it was being repaired to be sold. The lot where it is usually parked was being re-striped so it was just there for a day. I received a notice in the mail stating that The police stored the car with Hisham Towing at 14201 S Halldale Gardena, CA 90249 on the 26th of June, on July 2nd I went down to pick up the car and was told that I would have to get a police release form which it was too late to pick one up. I was told then that I owed $600.00 plus the $300 to register before I could pick the car up. It's now July 3 and the fees are already over $900.00 so we decided it wasn't worth it to get the car. I decided go back to Hisham Towing to ask the guy if I can just let them keep the car as of today July 3rd so that they can stop charging me the almost $100.00 dollars a day for storage. He tells me No. They are going to continue charging me for 42 days. 42 days! Even though I asked him to keep the car and the pick slip since they are going to get the car anyway. He said that they will still charge me storage fees knowing that I am not picking up the car. Then he continues to say that if I bring my Pink slip and $400.00 he will clear it all. This is such a scam! I told him I can't afford to get the car because of the fees, they are taking the car for auction anyway I tell him, why can't they just stop charging me storage today I asked. He said that's all he can do. Take my car and bill me for 42 days of storage! This is happening to most people in the urban area, It's sad because we keep letting it happen. It's wrong and can't be legal. Who can we turn to? This has to stop. I will seek the advise of an attorney regarding this matter! Stay clear of these crooks! And if it is happening to you please tell your story! Hopefully we can stop this crime. It can't be legal! Gardena California

Thank you Tow Gods for knowing all! You are wrong. You don't know anything specifically about my situation. There was no resurfacing etc... I know for a fact just like you know for a fact that this industry has industry standards and that you make money auctioning these cars and selling the debt incurred from the upaid fees. =The truth needs no defense. I don't have to sway anyone's opinion or create negative buzz. Thanks for the credit and the power, but I'm not interested. It was just unfair. Period! Maybe one day like many other's your industry will change for the better. Consumers need breaks. Everyone is not a schemer sorry. Some people just want justice for all! Get over yourself. But good job defending your job!

Fair is fair??

How can YOU say that when its OBVIOUS that the vehicle was towed?? Ok we get it, it was a PRIVATE lot. But if YOU were allowed to park there, WHY was it towed? Oh that's right!! YOU state its because of a resurfacing. But YOU made a small error. YOU ADMITTED THE VEHICLE HAD NO PLATES!!!! Which means that the management staff TOLD YOU that YOU needed to register YOUR vehicle so it has tags OR they would tow you. Something that was left out of YOUR report. How do I know this?? Because EVERY management company, every commercial property owner does the SAME THING!! I have even had it happen to me while at WORK!! So while Im sure it makes YOU feel better to blast the tow company online, there IS a reality here that YOU are choosing to ignore.

YOUR vehicle was towed for one of two reasons. 1. Your vehicle had NO PLATES!! So the management company that takes care of THAT PRIVATE LOT had it towed. OR... 2. YOUR vehicle was towed BECAUSE it had NO PLATES and they were doing a resurfacing. If its number one then SORRY its on YOU to maintain your vehicles registration. If its number two then that is TRULY on YOU because YOU would have been informed of the dates of the repaving. So YOU would have KNOWN that something was going to happen to YOUR vehicle since YOU didn't move it!! As for the Tow company, it is NOT illegal for them to charge you for STORAGE. While YOU are looking for a backdoor to resolve this situation, THEY wont open said backdoor for you. So either pay them off or take the hit on YOUR credit score. Its pretty cut and dry. A vehicle is NOT towed for no reason. There is ALWAYS a legitimate excuse as to WHY a vehicle had to be towed. While YOU don't think its "fair", when are YOU going to consider OTHER PEOPLES SITUATIONS??? Do YOU really think that the tow company WANTS your POS car?? Its just one more thing THEY have to store. By keeping YOUR junk on property THEY miss out on having a storage spot for a customer who WILL PAY!!! YOU are trying to assign machivellian motives to the tow company. The tow company got permission to tow YOUR vehicle away from either the police or YOUR property manager. The tow company DID NOT just choose YOUR VEHICLE with a eenie-meanie-miney-moe!! SOMEONE who had authorization to make those types of command choices GAVE the tow company permission. WHY are YOU not blasting THEM?? THEY would be the ones to go after for the costs associated with the tow. WHY do we not see a post from YOU about the "unfair" way YOU got towed.

I KNOW why. So do YOU!! I will spell it out for those readers who have not yet experienced this from OTHER posts. YOU THINK that by making this post, YOU are going to generate negative buzz about the tow company. YOU THINK that by making this post, YOU can force the tow company to give YOU your way in exchange for removing said post. Unfortunatly THIS SITE never removes a post once posted and trust me there are some doozies out there. YOU THINK, that YOU can get something for free for the aggravation of having the car towed. YOU THINK you should be compensated for ALL the trouble YOU have had from this situation. The problem in all of this is that YOU THINK YOU ARE RIGHT!!! If YOU were then YOUR VEHICLE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN TOWED!! PERIOD!! GROW UP AND ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE CHOICES YOU HAVE MADE!!!!

I was not parked illegally and I should not be charged for 42 days when I am relenquishing the car in 5 days is my point!

AUTHOR: KimD - ()

POSTED: Friday, July 04, 2014

I parked my car on a PRIVATE LOT allocated to myself  and the other tenants in my building, No the car was not registered yet. It was recently purchased for resale. You are very much mistaken when you state that you are sure that lot is not there for me - it is a PRIVATE lot for me and the other businesses who lease there! My problem is that I was told by the Police department that all I needed was proof of insurance to release the car. They said that the fee's are the Tow companies business.

The 42 days of fee's that will be charged to me even though I said that I would just give them the car is the problem. There is no blaming game here you are just of the opinion that I was illegally parked and deserve to pay $4,200.00 and loose a car to auction do to unfair business practices. I run a business and I am fair when it comes to my customers. This is overkill! And it happens all the time. I am willing to pay what ever I owe. But what's fair is fair! You just don't get it!

You are responsible

For your car - you parked it on a PRIVATE LOT without proper identification. I am sure that lot is not there for you - it is a PRIVATE lot! Good luck finding any attorney to help you.  You are responsible for your own actions so stop playing the blame game.
