As a Real Estate Agent that had been in the industry for over 10 years, I wanted to take the time and money to invest in my business.  My Manager at the time had a Hobbs Herder representative come to our office and do a presentation.  This presentation covered all that any agent wouild want in a marketing and advertising partner.  I paid the $400.00 dollars for the 3 day seminar.  My purpose was to hire someone to assist me in my quest to implement name brand recognition, website and advertsing cohesiion.  After all Hobbs/Herder promises to provide, "marketing and plans to allow you freedom as well as be your support system."  With all an Agent must do in this industry I thought this would be just what I needed.

My cost for this great service did come with a price but as they pound in to you on the 3rd day it is a fraction of the cost BIG BRAND names pay for.  I paid just under 10k for the 'whole enchiladas'.  But I explained to the sales rep at the time that I had several trips and could not begin until after new year.- This seminar was in October, 2014 and explained that perhaps I should wait until after the new year.  However, that great price would not be promised again, so they said pay and start at your lesisure in 2015.

To make a painful story short, I begain with their famous phone interview with their, 'writer' and manager to get to know you.  Part 2 interview was to sum up what they believed to learn from you and your written bio previously submitted to summorize what they believe they could spin into an advertising story.  I was told that I was very interesting and they could go in 4 different directions.  None of them quite me but we settled a combination that I hoped reflected me.

The campaign came back as a diaster, not even close to what I do or who I am.  I randomly showed qualified friends and business associates and they said I don't understand who you are or what you do.

My request for rewrites and support to get this material corrected became personal to the writer and the manager.  They were both hurt by my request and determined that I was difficult.  We agreed that I should then write something to guide them, but I thought that's why, I HIRE THEM!

After working on my own recuriting business friends who had experience with their companies in writing material and would have an objective eye, I turned in my own words,  I was then cut off by being told my time had terminated and I would need to pay more money to continue.  I still had not gotten out of the initial stage. I went through the guarded phone system that connects to no one and found someone in print advertising.  When I sent him their rough draft he LAUGHED! After this I could not get any calls back or emails answered!

Here is what I got for my $10k:

*Wrote my own bio

* Designed my site and color scheme- by example sites

* No customer support

I did escatlate this to Greg Herder, himelf via a Facebook text message and said someone needs to call me.  I did receive a call from Director of Creative Services who aggressively boxed my ears for telling Greg Herder a lie.  She said my time had elasped and I had been contacted.

Not at all what I signed up for!!
