Homes by Hewes Mike Hewes Substandard and negligent workmanship on driveway Keystone Heights Florida

Warning***Mike Hewes a concrete contractor was hired to pour concrete at my residence in November 2013. Within 3 weeks of the pour there were 8 large cracks in the slab because he never came back to cut expansion gaps. I called him to let him know of this matter and he told me that the cracks were normal. I hired a geotechnical engineering firm out of Jacksonville to write a report on their findings. They determined that the workmanship was subpar and the cause of the cracks was in fact due to no expansion joints in the slab. My neighbor who also had a slab poured the same day by Mike Hewes has the exact same problem with large cracks across his slab and no expansion joints. i filed a claim against his insurance and found out he does not carry the proper insurance to guarantee his work only the bare minimum to be in business! Beware of doing any business with Mike Hewes concrete. I should have known something like this would happen when I saw him blowing into a tube to get his car started, and showing up without tools and borrowing mine to complete the job.
