Although the account has been payed off several months ago Household continues to makeup additional faudulent charges for monthly maintenance fee finance charge & accountsecure plus, and I don't know what else. Have sent emails and talked to them on phone for hours with no satisfactory results. I will continue to fight this with hope that they will not continue to rip-off other customers.

Number for Help

AUTHOR: Margo - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, April 24, 2006

If you are having legitimate problems with HHB call the Office of the Comptroller of the currency 1-800-613-6743 or the Federal Trade commisssion at 1-800-FTC-HELP. Even if the law allows this practice presently, these copmplaints are monitored by legislators and making enough noise may just help.

Be wary of Household Bank

AUTHOR: Joe - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, February 27, 2006

Uhhgh...i feel for you guys. I am very strict with my money and especially my credit cards. I had actually received a letter from HHB stating that they reduced my credit limit (my income to debt ratio was too high at the time) but i had not paid anything late on their card or anything else for that matter. Well, when i did the math, my new credit limit would be OVER the limit with just the finance charges added. Luckily i was able to head this off before anything negative happened. Please avoid this company - they are probably one of the worst credit card issuers in America. It appears making millions off of interest is just not enough.

Close the account!

AUTHOR: Jp - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, January 23, 2006

Unless you CLOSED the account they can still charge you the maitenance fee, and any other charges you signed for when you opened the account.

In order for them to stop being able LEGALLY to charge the obviously open account you need to call to CLOSE the account.

We are going through the same thing

AUTHOR: T - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, January 23, 2006

We are going through the same thing. In April 2005 we paid our household bank cards in full and now they are charging us for interest and late fees we have accessed. When I called HSBC they stated it is charges that have accumulated during debt consolidation. They refuse to drop the fraudulant charges. They agreed to a certain amount during consolidation. As of this date they have charged off the account and we are refusing to pay them anything because they are the ones in the wrong.
