I had purchased a 2001 Dodge Ram pick up New and was given this finance company to work with. I did have really bad credit which in turn limited my choices for financing.

I have had nothing but problems with this company. I have always used the Western Union Quick Collect and they still have screwed up my payments.

One time they credited another account with my payment and then harrassed me as to why my payment was not there, two months went by before they found it.

I recently am able to pay off the total amount due and that took 4 phone calls to get correct amount so I could have a cashiers check printed. The first guy I spoke with couldn't comprehend that I was asking for a PAYOFF amount. He just kept asking when I was going to make the current payment. Why would I want to make a payment when I am trying to pay the whole thing off? I then asked to speak with a manager and he asked me why, I told him he wasn't understanding me and that maybe his manager could help.

He refused to transfer me to his manager and after about 15 minutes of running in circles with this guy. I told him that he was an idiot. He then hung up on me. Yes I was wrong to call him an idiot but he still did not understand that all I needed was a payoff amount, this is after I told him I was going to overnite it to him the next day. I then called back and was greeted by a friendlier person who tried to help but I was then transferred to yet another person to get the payoff amount.

After this and before I had the check printed, I made sure to call back the next day so I wasn't going to have the payoff for the wrong amount, this person tried to do the same as the first and I cut them right off. I told them I just needed to verify the payoff amount I was given and she stated a completely different amount!!!!! Now I was beyond frustrated I finallay got a manager on the phone to verify the first amount I had was correct and procedded to have the cashiers check made out and proptly Fed Ex'd OVERNIGHT which they received Monday the 11 of July 2005. As of the time of this letter thay have not posted the money to my account.

I have received three seperate calls from the collections department DEMANDING payment. THEY ALREADY HAVE IT!!!! Aughhhh

The first lady who called asking for payment on Tuesday told me that she will put a note that we should not receive any more calls. And that She would follow up and make sure I get my title and all the necessary paper work. Then on Wednesday I received another call I was not home when this one came in just a message from them.

But the one I received yesterday the 14th of July took the cake. He was RUDE and demanded to know where my payment was. I told him that they had my Payoff check and that they received it on Monday. He then asked me how did I know they received it. I told him I had the confirmation signature and tracking number to verify and he told me he couldn't and that I need to send them a payment. By this Time I have completely lost and type of restraint when talking to him. I asked for a manager , he said none available till late next week. I told him that was not acceptable and he said too bad.

Now my blood is beyond boiling I am ready to reach through the phone and rip his head off. I told him I would like to speak with some one incharge. Still no noe to speak with other than himself. Trying to keep calm I ask to speak with the payoff department. THere is no number to the payoff department. So if there was a problem with it posting to the wrong account there is no one to speak with.

I finally had enough of the guys attitude and asked for the Managers Voice mail. He wouldn't put me through to them. And said he had to go and HUNG UP!!! Still no where close to an answer just more headaches.

Called again today to find out what's going on with my check. Lady on the phone answers and starts the normal questions. I cut her off because this is the 10th phone call of verifying info, and she repremands me for interrupting her. I told her I just needed to know if the check had posted yet. Rudely states that I am past due and that I have payment arrangements setup. I hadn't set-up any payment arrangements. And that I didn't know what she was talking about. No check yet.

I called our LOCAl Household branch, they aren't the auto fiance place but I was hoping the could help, just gave me the same number I had. THe lady here was very friendly and was really trying to help me out. But they don't even have numbers to call. This has been so frustrating, I will NEVER in my life recommend this company to anyone.

HSBC - Horrible to non dilinquent customers too!

AUTHOR: Mary - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 05, 2006

I financed my motorcycle through HSBC. I financed $5000.00 and I made multiple payments that were double what I needed to and once made a 1/4th payment for the month. In November or December of 2005 2 payments were electronically deducted from my account (only one was supposed to). I called and the rep refused to return it, said they couldn't. Then I was told they could "mail me a check" in two weeks. I PAID ELECTRONICALLY!

After a lot of yelling the representative went ahead and applied one of my payments to the next month's bill. THEN it happened again 6 months later in May of 2006! I called and complaint and they did not give a d**n. On June 2, 2006 I finally got Sam fromthe Illinois Call Center to refund my payment. He said I would get it in two weeks. In mid June I still had not receive my check so I requested a payoff amount (by email! - documentation) and received the payoff amount TWO DAYS later (they say they will respond in 24 hours) My payoff amount was dated on the 16th and good through the 30th of June. My bank issued a check for the full amount and it was mailed, dated June 23rd, 2005.

On June 26th the website noted a processed payment for $99.00 - 24 days after they said they processed my return - HA! Well on the website they show that they received my last payment of over $1,417.74 but they should that I now owe $99.00. It is July 5th, 2006 now and I still have not received the stupid refund - which IF I ever do will be returned to sender. I wonder if they will ATTEMPT to charge interest for that $99.00 that I will never deposit or handle in any way shape or form. By the way - I was a great customer, with good credit (I purchased a home just fine)AND just an FYI, this company is finance outside of the US and that is probably why they are so deplorable. I kept documentation of everything just in case they try to pull something. Never again HSBC!

HSBC imcompetent

AUTHOR: Jose - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 18, 2005

I totally agree with what your saying. I purchased a 2001 Olds Alero in 2001 and because I had bad credit I had to go with HSBC. At first, things were ok and then I lost my job and I was having a hard time making payments. Eventually the car was repossessed. Actually, HSBC was quite helpful in arranging for me to get the car back. Now, however, they can't find payments, they call at least 30 times a day on average, and they outsource to these Indians who can't speak a lick of English. They completly lie over the phone. I have gotten, to date, six different renditions of where my money has gone and when I told them that I was going to stop payments until they found out where it was, they threatened to take the car. I calmly informed them that the car is in a garage and there is no way that they will get it. I work on a military base and one of thier operators told me that the base did not exist!! Yep, he said that I was lying and that Ft. Snelling MN was not a base. That was when I knew that these people have got to be the dumbest idoits on the earth. I do plan to pay my car off soon and when I do, I'm going to have them fax me a document on thier letterhead stating that if I pay the amount by that date it will be done. That should clear the whole different amount thing. Good Luck with these idiots.

Definetly seek an attorney

AUTHOR: Janice - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, July 15, 2005

Amanda,

I am in the same boat as you, I financed through household and have had nothing more than problems with their collections department, and everyone else that involves them. They have 3rd parties who make the calls. I was told that in this situation, to contact your state attorney general, but, on this complaint form, it states that the company has to be given a reasonable amount of time to solve the problems before recommending filing a complaint with the attorney generals office. I was also informed the better way to resolve this, is by sending household a signed and dated letter, stating the problem, and you also need to send a copy of the money order and anything that may be helpful, and how many attempts you have already tried to get this matter resolved. You need to make a copy of the letter sent for record purposes! if needed, send it certified, that way they have no choice but to sign and cannot say they have not received your letter, as they claim they haven't received payments and so on so forth. If they do not fix the problem (atleast within 7) business days give or take, i would definetly seek the attorney generals office for further help to resolve it. I wish you alot of luck! Please keep us updated on the outcome! Surely, if household doesn't find the error and fix them, then the attorneys general can!

Don't be sorry, they ARE idiots

AUTHOR: David - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, July 15, 2005

Don't be sorry Amanda. You got to call it as you see it. These people ARE idiots! They are (next to CitiFinancial), the most moronic, incompetent excuses for a finance company that has ever infested this planet. These people get off on treating us like they do. Be extra careful and make sure you document EVERYTHING that is going on with your payoff. You can get about 1000 different versions of the "payoff" amount, which is meant to confuse one into paying more than is due. Household is a criminal organization and should be shut down and its' operators put in prison.
