Slightly before May 1, 2012, I renewed an annual termite baiting service through Hulett Environmental Services, on a property I inherited after my mother passed away.  On May 24, the property was sold, and the new owners had the option to reimburse me the cost of the service at closing, but refused.  I approached Hulett and asked for a pro-rated refund of our $295, since the service renewal was in effect less than a month.  After several calls, most unreturned, I received word from Operations Manager Frank Dowling that (a) no refund would be issued, and (b) the termite baiting service, by Florida law, would be extended to the property at no charge to the new owners for the full year.

For a company with an otherwise stellar record, and in memory of a good customer who paid bills on time and kept services on the property for several years, I cannot believe that they refuse to reimburse the majority of this, or (more appropriate, given all the circumstances) the full amount.

I had promised Hulett Environmental Services that I would report them to the Better Business Bureau, and list them on ripoffreport.com, if I was dissatisfied with the reply relayed to me through their Operations Manager - who didn't even have the decency to call me directly, and relayed his reply through the operator answering the telephones.  I keep my promises.

So, if you have to have a termite baiting service, or elect to as a precautionary measure to protect your home, AVOID Hulett Environmental Services.  They should be keeping bugs from your home, not bugging customers with outrageous and stringent policies, and dissatisfying customer service.

Warranty is still active

AUTHOR: Hulett Support Team - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 12, 2012

Dear Sir,

We are sorry that our company failed to meet your expectations.  The control over the termite warranty for your mothers home was out of our hands after the closing took place along with the warranty transfer.   That warranty is still active and valid for the new owners of your mothers home.  If there was a request for refund prior to the change of ownership, we would have been glad to comply with your refund request.  The warranty now is owned by the new owners and is active for the duration of the previously received payment period that we now must honor.

We hope you understand and we will certainly take any inconvenience you experienced with us into account in any future dealings with our company.

Thank you Again for understanding,
The Hulett Support Team
