I received an email from this company saying I was pre-approved for a visa card. I went to their website where I was required to enter a lot of my information including my Social Security number as well as my checking account information. I read the terms and conditions THOROUGHLY (have since re-read these numerous times) and not once is there any mention of an application fee or any initial fee for that matter.

The next day, I tried using my debit card linked to my checking account only to find that I had insufficient funds due to an unauthorized, fraudulent withdrawl of $159.00 by this company. I immediately called their customer service number and tried to explain my situation to the woman who answered, however she was extremely rude to me and actually had the nerve to call me "stupid" for applying for the card without reading the terms and conditions (which I had done several times by now). I informed her she was being extremely rude and asked for her name. She refused to give me a name or any way to identify her at all, so I then asked to speak to her supervisor. This is when she swore at me and then hung up the phone on me. I immediately called back and received the same woman who once again hung up on me after telling me to stop calling.

At this point I was so frustrated that I was about to just give up. Thank god I found this site. I read the stories of several people who had the same problem I did with this company, and then I found an Editors Note which suggested what to do about this problem. THIS ACTUALLY WORKS! Search for this note and follow what it says. Tell your bank you contacted the Better Business Bureau of Southeast Florida and they informed you that there are literally hundreds of similar reports regarding this company. Tell the bank that the BBB, along with your attourney, advised you to contact the bank about filing a dispute because of the fraudulent charges which you DID NOT AUTHORIZE. Politely tell them that they are required to assist you in accordance with Federal Regulation E. My bank immediately deposited the full $159.00 back into my checking account!
