*REBUTTAL Owner of company: Did you bother to ask for a rate before you gave your card number?
I freaked out when I realized the next morning after accepting two emergency calls from a son out of town. Between the two calls it was less than 10 min. I was charged $5.00 twice just for the service plus $47.42. I definitely want to be a part of a class action law suit. From what I read they never loose except for federal cases. Lets all quite our jobs and buy stock in this, otherwise don't ever use the phone or your toast.

Did you bother to ask for a rate before you gave your card number?

Operators are obligated to give you your rate upon request only. If you gave your card out without asking, the operator is not obligated to nor will they give you the rate, thats your own fault. When you use a credit card to bill a call there is a $5.00 holding charge to verify that the card has funds which is returned to your account. You are charged federal, state, local, and property surcharges and taxes for using your credit card and these calls are also charged based on the distance of the call. In a nutshell your number didnt allow collect calls (which is also controlled by you) therefore the only way you could speak to your son was by using a credit card to bill it. So next time ask how much you are going to be charged before using your credit card like any other person with half a brain. When you buy anything with your credit card you should verify what youll be charged, its your money isnt it? Next time tell your son to buy a calling card... you werent scammed youre just ignorant.
