I was one of those duped into buying one of the cruise from this company. The problem is I did not know of this ripoff report until after i paid more money to accomodate me two kids. I bought into this cruise/scam last year to give my wife a surprise birthday gift.

Now, I don't know what to do. My trip will be this Easter and my kids are so excited because it is our first time to try a cruise. I don't know if we should go ahead and go to Florida. I'm scared that this is not going to be a vacation but a disaster. Can somebody please give me an advise or suggestion.

we took this vacation package and have many of the same complaints everyone else does. To whom ever doesn't think this is a scam, I beg to differ. If you are representing something a certain way to a consumer, and it then falls short of the expectations and promises THEY made, then its a scam. If you overstate the value of something and then indeed charge MORE than its worth, its a scam.

RPR's motto....Overpromise...Undeliver

When we returned from this so called vacation, I started calling RPR to get a refund for a car rental I was charged that was supposed to be included. Believe me, you've got to have tenacity and resiliance to deal with these people. I was advised that I'd have to deal with their compliance dept to get my refund. The catch??? there is no phone number, only a fax number. You are supposed to fax in your complaint. I tried....the fax would never go through. I called back 3 more times and each time got another fax number which was just as useless as the first. I finally mailed a letter express post and still got no response. I finally filed a complaint with the Florida Dept of Agriculture and Consumer services. Within 2 weeks I received a reply that a file had been opened and they were contacting RPR and needed me to provide reciepts etc. A few days after that BEFORE I had the chance to send in the receipts, I recieved another letter from the Dept stating they had received a response from RPR. I received a refund of $898 to my credit card!!

My advice...cut through the crap..go directly to the Dept of Agriculture and Consumer services and file your complaint through them. I fully believe they were the ones responsible for getting my refund!! Good luck to you

It is pretty late

What I would do is contact Ramada Plaza (the owners of Imperial Majesty) and request an upgrade to Carnival. Believe me, you will enjoy it a lot more than Regal Empress. As I understand it, the old ship was supposed to be withdrawn from service this year because it won't meet the new Safety of Life at Sea regulations. Check and see if it is still in operation. If not you will definately get a better ship but if it is then try to get Carnival. This is NOT a scam - just a budget vacation on a second rate ship. Food is OK but accomodations are usually cramped. The Carnival cruises and others stop at a private island. IM just goes to Nassau for a day and sails that night. Your time at sea is at night both ways.
