We gave them $800 to take pictures of our daughter, then gave another $400 to pick out the "right" pictures. It has been 6 months and no phone calls from them. We did get a call from a "manager" wanting to represent my daughter "just send a check"
I feel this company is just a racket and I understand I wont get our money back, I just hope some of these parents dont get riped off as we did.
Check their Better Business Bureau report. This is not a good company

IMTS is not a scam. They are not an agency or a school, they just help you get started. Even if you went to a top modeling agency in new york city they would tell you to go and get pictures before you contact them. One of my best friends has gone through IMTS and she is in the city constantly for television shows such as gossip girl and law and order. People should stop being bitter about thgis company. No one is garunteed, and the reason why your child probably did not get any work is because you either didn't try to pursue anything or your child did not have a good personality.

I am talking with lawyers and have contacted 2 News Stations so far about this. I would LOVE to picket the place and help people walking in to WALK AWAY!
Contact the News! Get the Media involved! That could help!
I don't know how these people sleep at night victimizing people and scamming them for a living.
I'm not sure how anyone can contact me through this site,
but I am willing to do something about it!
Does anyone know how to contact anyone from here?
I WILL get a refund. I will fight until I get it. I will not be scammed out of $1350 for a service I did not receive. I don't care what the "policy" says.

Protect yourself. Do not give your credit card to anyone. Know exactly what you
are paying for before agreeing to hand you credit card or check. Avoid automatic
billing as well.
Use a a different credit card for things you are skeptical about, preferbly one with
$5.00 (five dollars) available funds.
There too many scams out there designed to take you money, Modelling Agencies,
Insurace Companies, Banks, Credit consolidation, Mortgage companies, Employers,
Doctors, Lawyers, Car Sales people, politicians, Churches, Dead Beat Relatives, the list goes on.
Only you can protect yourself. So do not be so quick to hand over money t folks or your account information.
Basically, we live in a ripoff world, very few place nd people are honest anymore.
Its you money and you time do not give it away so easily.

I also have paid money to Industry for my daughter and have been with them since August. So far my daughter filmed with Law and Order SVU and has done auditions for tv.
Industry told us when we signed up that they do not guarantee that your child will get work, however, they will market her the entire duration of your contract. To find out where your child has been submitted all you need to do is call the agency and they will provide you with a list.
We are happy that we got called so soon however we were aware that would take some time or she may not get called at all. This was told to us during our last visit.

I have seen Industry Model & Talent Studios grow and take a lot of people's hard earned money. It was easy for us as employees to tell how much money was being made from this scam because the number of us the Appointment Setters more then doubled over night. Appointment Setter are the nice people that call your house seven days a week telling you what you need to hear so you can bring your child in so the company can get your money. We started in a little room upstairs in suite 9 and when business started to boom we got our own suite in the same building with more phones and more people. If you have seen the CBS 2 report then you know of Roman the "manager" but he is just the face of the company individuals like his father and Lauren are the real brain of the operation and have set up a great system of training and rewarding Appointment Setter because we bring the money in. Appointment Setter get bonuses based on our overall "Come in Rate" meaning the more of my appointments that come in then I get up to ten dollars per person plus my hourly rate which was about thirteen dollars. They target college students because we need the money; So on campus from William Paterson University to Rutgers University and every where in between Industry Model & Talent Studios has a team of recruiters for new Appointment Setters. After I was recruited I went throw a series of interviews and then training and before I knew it I was bring in around eight-teen children and parents in a week. If the minimum photo package is eight- hundred dollars and there are nineteen more appointment setters doing the same you do the math and see how much money Industry Model & Talent Studios is scamming from people a week. I would just like to take the time to apologize to anyone that I scammed out of money; What I did was wrong and I'm very sorry for it and I'm willing to help in any way I can. I know that Industry Model & Talent Studios was gone to far in hurting too many people when I saw that they had a booth in Six Flags Great Adventures in New Jersey think of all the children that are going to be there this summer.

Is Industry Model & Talent Studios still in business?

A couple of months ago, I heard from a friend who lives in Fort Lee, NJ (the town just north of Edgewater) that he read that Industry Model & Talent Studios was under criminal investigation by the Bergen County District Attorney's Office.
Considering how many people this sleazy company has ripped off, you would think that they would have been shut down a long time ago.
Does anybody know if the owners of Industry Model & Talent Studios have been indicted yet?
If not, then why not?

I just watched a story on CBS 2 News here in New York about Industry Model & Talent Studios, and they have confirmed what many of you have suspected... This company is nothing but a scam!
They are not a modeling or talent agency, they are con artists who charge an outrageous amount of money to take photographs (so-called "headshots") of victim's children. They provide NOTHING but overpriced photos!
If you want to see the story on CBS 2 News' website go to (( link removed by ROR))

Samantha just sounds like the people who call you from Industry Model & talent studio.
who try to make a point after the contract is signed, "We never said we are going to do anything for you & as per contract, we dont have to prove what we do with your pictures (probably throw in the trash). We will take your money (startinng from 500 to 2000.00$) and give 2 0r 3 pictures for this extrvagant amount.
Even after cancelling the photo shoot they repeatedly keep calling and trying to convice to come in for the photoo shoot, I guess 500.00$ was not enough for them.
NJ consumer affairs has confirmed this company dont have a license (applied but pending due to numerouis complainst against them) but Industry studio on the phone say we do have a license.
Another concerned parent ripped off by this company.

Industry Model and Talent Studios Did a Great Job for me!
AUTHOR: Samantha - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Monday, November 27, 2006
I would like to say something positive about Industry Model and Talent Studios: They never claimed to be an agency. They never guaranteed any work. There was no guarantee that I would be called back from an agent or manager. They offer a great service of providing tools in order to break into the industry. Any average person who has ever tried to break into modeling or acting knows they need exposure, pictures, etc. Industry Model and Talent Studios is a one-stop-shop to help support the beginning of a modeling or acting career.
When I first started to try modeling, I thought I would be 'discovered'. After trudging around to open calls with 100 other candidates i realized I just don't have time to 'be discovered'; it's like winning the lottery. Imagine dropping out of school and not working because you thought you'd win the lottery. Not very realistic is it? That's what I thought, so I decided to work for it.
I figured- I would get some pictures done so I could market myself easier. So, I went to expensive free lance photographers and other shady people that took my pictures for a small fee or sometimes free. but i always had to pay for the prints and I never got to keep the negatives! Not to mention, after I got the bland and very expensive 'kinkos' cards and head shots, I STILL had to mail and go 'door to door' with them! All the leg work was on me!
This was over and over again, a grueling process.
I heard of Industry and WOW I thought, I can do it all in one day??? hehe made sense to me! Industry Studios allowed me to obtain great marketing tools that met industry standards for exposure. They also do most of the leg work so I can continue my career as an RN.
Industry Model and Talent Studios helped me.
There was never a question as to what services I was getting. They were clear about what they did and all of their policies. The 3 or 4 people complaining are the loud minority. The quiet majority of people are satisfied or realize. hey, sometimes you try and it doesn't work out and they move on. Kind of like college for some people.
