INFINITI OF COCONUT CREEK MY CAR WENT FROM A OIL CHANGE AND A COUPLE OF FLUSHES TO A RECOMMENDED NEW ENGINE. WHICH THEY WANT ME TO PAY FOR BUT THE VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER MANUFACTURE WARRANTY COCONUT CREEK Florida

On 03/30/09 I was having a problem with my vehicle staying idol, i would start it up and it would shut off after a couple minute. not knowing what was wrong i called the road side asst, and had it towed to the infiniti dealership. On 03/31/09 I was called to pick up the vehicle, so i did.

the service adviser spoke with me and said that they change the oil and filter, did a transm flush and added some coolant flush. he also said they founded slight engine sluge, he also told me to change the oil again in a week

to make sure that everything is alright, I picked up my vehicle and left , i made it home and noticed some smoke coming from the tail pipe, i called his back and left a message with no return called. I figured it was no big deal cause it could be from the fluides they put in it. On 04/14/09 I took in back in for a part that was ordered and i mentioned the smoke, right then the service adviser said you need a new engine and it not covered under the warranty. how it need a new engine this week but i didn't need one last week.

the warranty is 6yr/ 60000 and my vehicle only has 53,000 and still under warranty.

After doing some research - and speaking directly with the Repair Manager we found all the notes regarding this person. Below is exactly what we found.

"THE CUSTOMER ON RIP OFF .COM WITH SLUDGE CHANGED THEIR OIL WITH US AT 19,739 MILES 26,341 MILES AND 52,765 MILES TOO MANY MILE BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. ALSO ON 4-29-09 ANOTHER DEALER CONFIRMED THE OIL SLUDGE CONCERN WITH THIS CUSTOMERS VEHICLE. THE LOW IDLE WAS DUE TO A FAULTY POWER MODULE AND THAT WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY."

We take every complaint seriously and try to rectify every situation to the best of our ability. But we are not in business to give away free services to people that can't properly maintain their cars.

The one you have is either very bad at communicating with his customers, or at worst is trying to rip you off.

First of all, how does changing the oil and flushing the transmission fix a problem with poor idle and stalling. I cannot imagine that you neglected maintenance so badly that these fluids could affect the engine performance. It just makes no sense.

Also, before even considering a new engine, you should get a much better explanation as to why it's necessary and exactly why it isn't covered under the warranty. Smoke can mean many things, depending on what color it is. It really sounds like you need to find another Infiniti dealer and get another opinion.
