I went to my local bank and was apprised that a check in the amount of $1,250.00 was scheduled to clear my checking account and the depositor of this check was Palm Island Services, Inc. which has a business address of 1255 N. Biscayne Pt. Rd., Miami Beach, FL 33141. The check that was deposited by this company stated authorization was acquired by me via telephone. This is not the case and authorization to debit my account was not granted by me to this company. In January of 2009 a check was sent to this business by me in the amount of $251.87 which cleared my checking account and resolved the debt with the business and was verified by the dental office that retained this collection agency.

The check what was allegedly authorized by me is a false statement. This is poor business practice and should have never happened. The business, Palm Island Services, Inc. should have never had access to my banking information and should have never been able to deposit a check on my behalf. I feel that this is potential fraudulent activity and the business should be held accountable for their actions.

I called the dental office that was resonsible for this collection. They told me that they just received the $251.87 collection in April of 2009.

A police report has been filed locally and within the same juristiction of this business. I have also filed a complaint with the State of Florida, Georgia, as well as the Federal Trade Commission, and the BBB. I will not stop there after reading these posts. These acts were commited accross state lines which make this a federal office. Not only is the this stealing but, it is check fraud, wire fraud, and mail fraud. I am not sure about the state of Florida but, in the State of Georgia Fraud is a felony.

These people have gotten away with this too long based on the posts made by consumers on this site.

How many people will lose money to this company before this business is shut down for good.

I would recommend to the person below to check into whether this company has an actual license to operate a collection agency. I checked into it and wasn't able to obtain them having one. The state of Florida requires actual licensing for collection agencies, not just a license to run a business. A helpful sight for this may be sunbiz.org

I am also wondering from this person, what dentist placed you in collections? They may have other patient which were place in collections that have had the same experience.
