I purchased a 07 chrysler crossfire about a week ago,I came back to the dealer to have a anti theft system installed.At this time the district manager was proforming the installation into my new car.For sure this moron had no right working on a $41500 auto.He installed a unit that sat on top of the battery.This unit moved the positive battery treminal up by two inches.I COULD NOT BELIEVE HE WAS GOING TO LEAVE IT THERE! Even a child would have known it would not clear the hood when closed.
Well needless to say he closed my hood and dead shorted the battery,smoke ,flames and sparks flew from under the hood.(note the car has 1000 miles on odometer)At that time I TOLD HIM TO STOP AND REMOVE THE DEVICE!Even his co worker heard it happen and thought he ran over glass with my car because it was that noticable.The name of the anti theft system is AUTO DEALER SERVIVES. I recommend never to let any personal from this company touch your car!!!
I feel that the entire electrical system has been damaged,for me to see flame,sparks and smoke the harness and components had to be overhaeated and damaged.The service department looked at it a short time and said all is ok! Well its not ok,I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN THIS CAR ANYMORE!Every processor and mico processor has been surged and flashed by dead shorting the entire cars system.I have to wonder and hope that my air bag system will or will not work? It will be to late when I am dead!
To make a horrible story short they gave me a run around for three hours.They acted like they cared until I demaned a replacement car,Then they all slinked away now unable to help me,sending me from one person than another.LASTLY I GET TO TALK TO THIS STUFFED SHIRT LARRY WEST.(GENERAL MANAGER)Needless to say he did nothing about my concern about the trust factor to my damaged car.This lowlife tries to buy me off with a $800 credit to his lame dealership.You know where he can put his $800! I also have witnesses to this nightmare.
BE AWARE ANYONE CAN BUY A CAR WITHOUT A PROBLEM BUT GOD FORBID YOU HAVE ISSUSES AFTER THE SALE.THIS DEALER HAS NO REGARD FOR HIS CUSTOMERS AFTER YOU PAY THEM.MR WEST IS A HORRIBLE HUMAN AND A DISGRACE TO ALL DEALERSHIP OWNERS,DO US ALL HERE A FAVOR AND CRAWL
BACK UNDER THE ROCK THAT YOU CAME FROM.FOLKS BUY FROM ANYONE BUT THESE BUMS AT INTEGRITY..ANY GOOD LAWYERS OUT THERE? GET IN TOUCH

I would be pissed if those things have happened on my car.
Let me just assure you that you will not have any problems. All cars do have a fuse right after the positive terminal, which would blow if there was too bad short.
That fuse was placed there intentionally to prevent system failures(burns) in case the owner ( or anyone else ) mistakenly crosses the terminals. It is called the main fuse. When that blowes, there is no power in the rest of the vehicle. So there is no demages to your airbags or anything else. Since you are able to start the car, You are safe.
I don't know why you needed any extra alarms.
Anyhow, I hope you will be at peace, just take that offered credit and use it towards car washes. Don't let them fix your car.
