Don't rent from International Home Network also known as international-home.net. They are a big scam.

On February of this year my partner and I traveled to Paris for the first time and we wanted a small affordable place to stay for a week. We found this company on-line and it sounded legit. When we arrived Paris we met with their local Manager Katty Kleber. She indicated that she was co-owner of the company but we don't know if that's true or not.

First, the apartment did not look at all like the pictures she sent us. It was in fact completely different, smaller, dirty and she didn't have an explanation for it.

Second, after we had paid for the full stay ahead of time she asked us on the spot to provide a 150 cash deposit. She said that this is how she makes her money and if we didn't pay she couldn't rent us the apartment. She also asked for a picture of my credit card to be taken with her phone. I found that weird and I told her I didn't feel comfortable but she still wrote down all the credit card information in a piece of paper.

Because it was so late and we were exhausted we gave her the 150 after she took us to a bank teller machine to withdraw the money. She was very persistent and almost nasty.

On the last day of our stay she called my phone asking for another “cleaning deposit” of 50. At least that's what we think she said because her English was very limited. We refused to give her the money and she said that we needed to leave the place immediately.

We left the following morning totally unhappy.

Last month I had three credit card charges on the same day from the same card that I gave her. It was approximately $45 euro each and the merchant was located in South America in Venezuela. I canceled the card and the charges were reimbursed to me as fraud.

I can't prove at this time that she somehow used our card but it is too much of a coincidence because she told us that she was originally from the country of Venezuela.

I have reported this to the police here in Amsterdam and also my bank is working with the French authorities.

Stay away from this company and specially from this person.
