Received a collection call 12/2/09 from Mardell Lacy, Internet Speedway, Inc., Billing Department, direct line 1-800-680-1294.  He informed me that I had an outstanding balance of $99.95 and asked how I wished to pay it.

Not knowing what he was talking about, I asked.  He said that I opted for a 15-day free trial offer for software to aid in a potential home business and that after 15 days I would be billed monthly for the services.  Since I did not cancel within the original 15 days, I owed the money.

Mr. Lacy told me that I had provided credit card information when I signed up, and that the terms were stated.

I had no idea what he was talking about, so I asked him to send me an e-mail explaining what the initial subscription was about.  He told me I received all that information initially and that the terms and conditions of the original offer were clearly outlined.  I told him I did not receive such an e-mail and that I did not understand there would be an automatic subscription.

I told him that I could not pay the $99.95.  He said he would send me the e-mail and would contact me again this Friday.

The e-mail he sent of terms and conditions was 15 pages long.  I have never received anything previously that looked like this contract.  He also sent a '"Payment Reminder" which shows their efforts to charge the $99.95 were unsuccessful.

I do recall several weeks ago signing up for a "free 15-day trial" of a product at a cost of around $2.00.  Several days later, my bank's fraud detection department called me to verify a charge that I did not recognize and told them I had not authorized.  They cancelled my card.  That is why the payment initiated by ISpeed.com was declined.

I have no intention of paying this money as I feel I do not owe it.

It is clear that this company has misrepresented themselves to me and obviously to many others.  Stop them!
