I went to a travel agent, expecting to avoid airline hassles and problems,(plus I wanted to pay in cash to avoid problems with authorizations and such, a whole other story)
I found this guy on the yellow pages and went to him cause he was the only place open. On Sat 4/11/04 I sat in his office and watched him make some reservations on-line, after which he asked me for payment, told me he didn't take cash because he didn't print tickets in his office.
My flight was intended to be on 4/24, well i gave him the money, drove his wife to the bank to deposit it, and she would use her cc to purchase ticket. Well after all that I walked out with a receipt that stated I had given him money but no confirmation for a flight..that was my first mistake..
From that point on it just went downhill. This guy never issued tickets for my flight, although he sent me confirmation on a e-mail, but when I called the airlines, there was of course a problem..This guys procrastination was unreal. all he had to do was call the airlines to get e-tickets issued.
He never did, so 2 days before my flight, and many agravating waiting periods with all the parties involved, i found out that this "business owner" had never followed up on his promise. The airlines wanted me to purchase another ticket for $759 dollars(I payed $220)...YEAH, ok.
Now I am battling him to get my money back, and this lying sack of pooh, won't even answer his phone when I call. So please beware. I have gotten many promises, but after missing my flight and all the inconvinience this has caused me the original airport trip to get the tickets, doesn't sound so bad. I tried to avoid problems and I got into deeper sh** than I could have imagined.

Yes, I did get a refund after 2 weeks of playing phone tag, and endless messages. I don't understand how he can claim he was out any money when he NEVER PAYED FOR ANYTHING.
The fact that he had to book a flight for a different price was because he didn't do what he was supposed to in a timely manner. I'm not a travel agent but its common knowledge that the closer the date, the more expensive it is. John promise me many times that I would be flying on the 24th(even if it came out of his pocket,yeah!)
My only mistake was trusting this "business man". I spoke to all the airlines (united, america west) i also spoke with the service he used to book my flight..THEY ALL SAID THE SAME THING.
All they needed was a phone call to get tickets printed..SIMPLE phone call, he was the one who dropped the ball, Procrastination will kill you. Plus what does the fact that I didn't have a credit card have to do with anything? I thought cash was still good in this country..I payed for services I never received, cash or credit the outcome would have been the same..All he can do is blame everyone else. How sad! Take responsabilty already.
Your actions, your business. I dealt With J.A travel, not with anybody else. Don't blame the service you used because I spoke to them too (onetravel.com)
But to recap, Yes I did get a refund, but not without a lot of aggravation.

We tried to help her out with her trip. She did not have a credit card, so we tried to assist her and I told her that new fares will com out on Wednesday and I will book it under my credit card.
We refunded her money after we found our that the service we used did not book the trip, and we were out $40.00 for the booking.
We did nothing wrong or improper. We have too much to loose
I would like this removed
