J. Scrivner Investigations Over-billing to the max! ripoff Spokane Valley Washington
*REBUTTAL Owner of company: We corrected our bill as requested

I sent this agency a job to serve and was told $35.00 for 2 attempts and mileage after that.
What I got was $70.00 for the job and 99 miles at .45/mi after that for a whopping total of $114.55!!!
Not cool. Because it was 3 trips instead of 2, they just ADDED ON ANOTHER $35! - they made 3 trips and said that it was 11 miles away each trip.
Ok, that's 66 miles. Where did the other 33 come from?
Talk about padding up the bill. $114.55 to get a 50 year old lady served at home that's 11 miles away.
I'm turning his bill over to my client with a sincere apology.
Sure wish I could get away with that kind of math.
:(

We corrected our bill as requested

This complaint in 2005 just now came to my attention. We did what the client wanted, served his papers. Basic charge for up to 2 attempts plus mileage . Then we needed a 3rd attempt. We charged him what we told we would (and corrected the error in mileage) and we served the papers as requested.
Not sure why he complained.
We are members of the BBB, and have no unresolved complaints on record.

Mr. Scrivner did acknowledge his math error and re-calculate the invoice with 66 miles instead of 99.
