I bought a 87 Suzuki Samuri on ebay for $1375. in the description of the auction the car sounded great. in the auction description of the vehicle it only had 67,000 miles on it and the only thing wrong with it was the rear wheel bearings needed to be replaced. the car was local so i went to go pick it up that night and it was blocked in my two vans, u would think he would have it ready to go. i didn't bother to ask for a test drive because of that. i gave him the cash and he gave me a receipt, a copy of what was on the auction, and the keys. on the whole ride home it was acting up, jerking real bad. i thought is might just be the bearings so i proceeded to drive it home. the next day i took it to the shop to get repaired, the shop said the rear bearings which were needing repair were fine and it had a problem in the transfer case and needed foreign parts ordered. my decision then was trying to contact the seller, he never returned my e-mails. so what i did is i put the car back up for sale on ebay with a description of what was wrong with it, at the end of my auction the buyer did a car fax report and would not buy the car because the report said that the vehicle had 97,000 miles on it at one point. tomorrow I'm going to try to file a law suit against him and try to get my money back.

JONATHAN suzuki samurai special edition

AUTHOR: James - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, January 09, 2006

Sorry when i sold the vehicle it had 67,000 when it was sold, not when i purchased it, this was a suzuki samurai special edition and the interior was in fair condition since it was an 87 it had two different soft tops that were in the back seat and the hard top was on it.
The vehicle was cleaned before it was put in the driveway but it was not waxed. i have sold and bought many items on ebay and never got a seperate receipt on any of my purchases. if the buyer would have contacted me in a resonable amount of time i would have worked with him but it was over a month when he contacted me. and i don't know what kind of damage he might have added to the vehicle. I was leary on selling it to him but he won the bidding on this item and he never contacted me before to ask any questions if i'm not mistaken all the others that bid on this car called me or emailed me with questions.

Couple of Questions

James,

You stated that you purchased the car used with 67,000 miles on it.

Did YOU not drive the car at all, because the OP said HE purchased the car with 67,000 miles on it?

And Yes, I would have the car parked behind my daily cars if I was about to sell it to someone that day. It also would have been washed, waxed and vacuumed.

I have lived in New England my whole life so I know that, if you take care of your vehicles in the winter with routine maintenance, you car will take care of you.

Personal responsibility folks...personal responsibility.

The auto was purchased on ebay as is and if anyone has ever been in buffalo on jan. or feb.
you know the streets are filled with snow.
would you keep your vehicle that was not driven behind your daily cars. I didn,t think so!
This was a young kid that purchased this vehicle and he had mentioned that he had never driven a stick before in his life. When he pulled out of my driveway he crashed into my neighbors trash cans.
The samurai was taken to a local monroe muffler and they had told me that the rear end needed bearings and this was told to me by midas muffler also.
it had just had a clutch put in a month or two before it was sold and it had a lifetime warranty on it so what probbably had happened was he must have burned out the clutch and when i talked to him a month later i had mention that but i know that has nothing to do with the transfer case but like i said before he didn't know how to drive a stick.
as for the mileage i bought it used and the odometer read 67,000 not 97,000 so unless someone else change the odometer before i owned it i can't control that. and he could have done a carfax on it but he didn't.
This person has cancelled his ebay account or was he kicked off ebay for trying to scam people.
