Jared / Kay Jewelers THEIR "JEWELRY" FALLS APART AND THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND IT -- DON"T GET RIPPED OFF LIKE WE DID! New Orleans Louisiana

To make a long story very short -- I purchased a gold ankle bracelet and gold & diamond earrings for my 21-year old daughter at the new Jared in New Orleans. Total cost was about $500. The salespeople were very helpful, and the jewelry looked very nice. Emphasis on "looked." After wearing the ankle bracelet ONCE, it fell apart. After wearing the earrings twice, two of the diamonds fell out. On the third wearing, one earring fell apart.

In both cases when we approached Jared they became complete jerks, denying the fault was theirs and insisting that we pay for the repairs. After paying for 2 repairs on BOTH items, they both fell apart and are sitting in my daughter's drawer in pieces. I have owned many pieces of jewelry for years and have never had this happen. ANY reputable jeweler would take responsibility for their merchandise and would either fix or replace it immediately. They are thieves. There are plenty of other companies out there who ARE reputable and stand behind their merchandise. If you want to waste your money, burn it rather than spending it on these shysters -- at least it will give you a few seconds of pleasure.
