I personally have had no experiences with JD Byrider, and judging by these posts,I don't want to either.

BUT,if you submitted names as 'references"YOU,by signing the contract, are giving the contractor permission to question or divulge any and all information about your account to the references,Thats what references are for.
No 2,If you taped ANYONE,without their knowledge or consent, that is a QUICK pass to federal prison.

BE AWARE OF WHAT YOU SIGN!!
Read the contracts.

You know what's funny is when you make comment such as the other two did, they automatically work for the company.............

Well, I can guarantee you I don't work for them. I'm in the process of trying to find a job in this lovely economy. I have been here, because I'm hoping as of tomorrow I hope to have landed a job and will be getting a vehicle and will more than likely have to go to a buy here pay here lot.

What they said is true, however, in that he is in a high credit risk, as well as you obviously were or you would not to have to resort to going to them. Right? You are correct in that they CANNOT discuss your financial information with the people on the list, big no no. The ONLY thing they can do is ask the person to relay a message to you for you to call them.

Now, with that being said you elected to go to a buy here pay here, why? Because of your credit situation.

I am not saying you are or several of the others on here that have filed reports are dead beats, but MANY people that go to these lots are true dead beat losers! They make payments for a while, then skip out and move on them!!! THINK ABOUT IT!!! They are the ones you should be jumping up and down and screaming and yelling at. These places are strict because of this fact!!! Just stop and think how many times a week, a month, a year this happens - puts it in perspective does it not? If you were in this type of business, would you not do the same?

While many are in the same boat as me with a few blemishes or not credit history to speak of it all and have to resort to these type lots. BUT there are many that have to resort to this type of purchase because they have been lazy with their credit and had much derogatory reports to their credit history so they HAVE TO.

If you are one of these latter types - THEN STOP YOUR B****** AND MOANING!!

ALSO follow the below advice!:

1) Do not be in such a hurry that you have to sign something that day. Take the vehicle on a test drive and to a mechanic. Have the mechanic look for the most obvious - oil, brakes and the such. NO MECHANIC WILL BE ABLE TO TELL YOU IF SOMETHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN A FEW DAYS, FEW MONTHS OR EVEN A MONTH LATER! They can not tell you if the motor is going to blow, it's going to need a tune-up in the near future and so on. My ex was a mechanic and lost a couple of friends over this little fact.

2) If you have found one you like, get the best price you can get them down to and tell them you will think about it. Be realistic - the chances of someone being interested in the same vehicle are low - just a ploy. The 'this offer is only good for tonight' is also just a ploy. Go home and do research!! Check the blue book price and go back prepared!!

If they still don't want to give you what you want to pay then tell them there is another lot you can go to and walk off the lot. Chances are you are not going to get your car! My Grandfather & Grandmother (which later became me helping him) would go into the office and when the salesperson started with the offers Grandma would say "Clyde that other place told us so & so" or "Clyde I just don't think we can afford that right now" and it worked. We also had to walk one time and sure enough didn't get to the car!

3) If repairs need to be made, such as brakes, steering, belts, make sure it is covered in the contract!!!!!!!!! If they won't - then walk - same as above. Why didn't I say oil change? My ex always said it doesn't matter if they did it there, ALWAYS do it yourself along with cap, rotor, and wires. If you don't know what I mean there, then ask a mechanic.

Again, not the dealer or a mechanic is going to be able to tell if the engine is going to blow the day after tomorrow, as well as some other major things, so keep that in mind. If there is something that has had to be repaired more than three consecutive times there is such a thing called the 'Lemon Law' and this pertains to used as well as new. If they are still unwilling to budge, it's wonder what a call to the BBB and/or Consumer Board at the Mayors office can do!

4) Make sure you FULLY understand what you are signing. You are dealing with a buy her pay here, so they are not going to be as lenient as a finance company. If you are going to have problems making a payment don't just rely on a phone call. GO to the office and tell them and get it in writing!!!!!!

They don't care if you been paying on it for a couple of weeks or several years, a contract is a contract and never, never, ever ASSUME they are going to be understanding if you are a couple of days late and you don't call them. Do you know how many times that happens to them and people move and they can't find them???? How much do you think they are out of then?

5) If they repo a vehicle they have every right to turn around re-sell it or auction it and charge you for the amount outstanding that they did not get. There is nothing against the law on that one. I myself have been a victim of this in the past and it was not with a bhph, it was through a regular car lot and finance company. ANY loan company has the right to call the loan at any point in time. FULLY understand what you are signing, do not make assumptions. If you do not understand something then ask. If you don't like their answer then have someone knowledgeable to read it!

6) As far as finance charges go, you are buying from a bhph, which means you obviously have not so good credit. EVEN if you were to go to a new/used dealership with a co-signer you would probably still be paying that high interest rate. Again, I know from experience.

Again, I do not mean to sound derogatory in this - but if you walk in acting like you are a hick and don't know s**+* from shinola, they are going to try to take you for every thing ya got!

Funny

What's really funny is that the people sticking up for Byrider are obviously JDB shills...Calling those "references" and discussing a customer's debts is a violation of the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. How do I know? JDB did the same thing to me, and we got them on tape calling the people on my list and discussing my "debt." After I called a friend with the Federal Trade Commission, Byrider decided it would be cheaper to forgive my loan than it would be to pay the federal fines...it was going to cost them $10,000 per offense. I also taped one of their reps threatening to come to my house to "settle things" because I was two days late on a payment. The state of Iowa was VERY interested in my little tape collection when the Attorney General went after them for predatory lending practices!

Judging from your spelling and word usage, I'd bet you didn't read the fine print. If you were so set against giving them peoples names and contact numbers why did you go ahead with the purchase? Apparently you're a high risk to loan money to or you wouldn't be forced into the arms of places like JD Byrider.

Educate yourself sir, read the fine print and if you don't agree.....don't sign but don't come here screaming rip off just because you don't like how a business is run. NO one forced you to do this.

If you don't default on your loan you won't have to worry about them calling anyone and embarrassing you to family and friends.

Is for people with BAD credit who cannot get a car loan elsewhere. If you have bad credit, they have every right to require additional contact information. Bad credit means you are a higher risk and therefore there are more requirements to be met. It is NOT a rip off, if you don't want to give them the info, don't take the car. I suggest you fix your credit issues before yelling about one place that would actually finance you.
